Roxas quietly walked from his last class to the so called common area. It was more of a place to eat and socialize then any of the other functions they had listed in the little guidebook on the school. The blonde haired boy moved his backpack off of his shoulder and onto the table in front of him.
People were all around the place, mostly talking or eating...or sometimes both to the disastrous effect of the persons being talked to. The blonde looked around for just a second, not really recognizing many people he decided to just work on his stuff.
The blonde zipped open his bag to unveil the small laptop he always carried with him and the little tablet that went with it for his graphics class. It wasn't any fancy computer or even a fancy tablet...they were just average. The boy clicked to power button on his computer and waited for it to boot up.
They were doing portraits right now using software. It was kind of fun actually...not having to do just the traditional style of drawing with a pencil and paper. Though of course that was still fun...but you could do so much more with a computer. Blue eyes watched as the black screen went blue, signalling it was almost ready for him to sign in. Now...what to draw is his only question.

Sora was out of class for the day, and good thing too—he was starving! He hadn’t eaten since…well, truth be told he had eaten about 2 hours ago, but he blamed his fast metabolism for him not staying full and already being hungry. He stopped by his dorm room real quick after class to deposit his messenger back, he didn’t need it any more that day anyway and it was way too heavy to just tote around. He would have asked his roommate if he wanted to join him in the Commons but thought better of it, after their ‘chase around campus’ as Sora called it, he hadn’t really felt like including Tore-n in any of his activities. He tended to avoid the older boy as best as he could.
Snatching his school ID out of his bag and sliding it into his pocket, Sora skipped [it was a manly skip!] out of the room and accidentally slammed the door behind him, wincing as the sound echoed throughout the halls. The islander exited the building and walked quickly towards the Commons, all the while trying to calm down his growling stomach by promising it food as soon as he made it to the cafeteria.
Once he made it inside he pulled out his ID and handed it over to the woman sitting behind the desk at the entrance to the cafeteria, watched her swipe his card into the computer which would then deduct money from his meal plan, and then hand it back to him without a word being exchanged between the two. He offered her a friendly smile before grabbing a plate and making a beeline for the Italian food, snatching two pieces of extra cheese pizza and filling his cup with a mix of fruit punch and grape juice [which is delicious by the way!]. Once having everything he needed he turned around, bright eyes dancing around the room in search of a place to sit. He didn’t really like the idea of sitting alone, but he didn’t see anyone that he recognized…so alone it was.
That is, until his gaze landed on a familiar head of blonde spikes. He couldn’t be positive, but from behind it looked just like…
He shuffled closer to get a better look, could it really be..? No, it wouldn’t make sense, as far as Sora knew Roxas didn’t go here, he would’ve seen him around, right? But nonetheless he found himself standing in front of the table that the other boy was sitting at, directly across from the blonde. Sora’s mouth fell open, “R-Roxas…? ” [/blockquote]

Roxas tilted his head as he heard his name called. He wasn't the most social creature here, especially since it was only his first day and he was certain few people here knew him...at least really knew him since he did go to a rather large high school...that was probably it. The blonde was greeted by a face he did not expect...not one of this former classmates...but someone with gravity defying brown hair and the most innocent looking face. The blonde's blue eyes widened as he came to the realization...Hiroaki, Sora...son of his father's brother...so his cousin!
I mean, how long had it been since the two had met? Quite a while for sure, I mean they couldn't have been older than ten the last time they'd talked. Why had they stopped talking? Oh right...the divorce...that was it right? The blonde tilted his head in thought, it came natural for some reason. "S..Sora?" he said, surprise evident in his voice. With the surprise in his mind, clouding it the surroundings blurred around him.
The blonde's mind went fuzzy...how was one supposed to react to seeing their cousin after so long? I suppose jumping for joy was out of the question...then again that seemed like a very Sora thing to do. Sora had always been the more energetic child...even when they were younger. Though Ven probably knew more about that then anyone, after all Ven knew everything! At least that's what he thought when he was younger...it was the way of the world.
The blonde still had his tablet in hand when he looked at Sora, his face keeping that look of surprise. "Um...hi Sora..." he said, but with Sora he hoped some things hadn't changed...when Sora was around he didn't have to talk as much...Sora did enough for the both of them...and a few more people on top of that. Of course that wasn't always a bad thing...but how much has changed? They were no longer the little boys playing on the beach, happy and carefree were they. How had each changed?

It was him! Words could not express the level of confusion and excitement that he was currently feeling at the sight of his cousin. He hadn’t seen the boy since…well…since the divorce. Before then Roxas and his parents would come to visit him and his parents quite often and vice-versa…but after his dad left there hadn’t been much reason for Roxas and his parents to come and see him. It was really sad to be honest because Sora had always loved playing with his cousin.
He quickly slid into the seat across from his cousin, pushing his tray of food to the side and staring across at the blonde, a giant grin pulling at the corners of his lips. How wonderful was this? He and Roxas could finally get caught up and hang out and be close again! It would be as if things had never changed…even though they had. They had grown up. Well, Roxas had probably grown up, Sora was, for the most part, still the same goofball he’d been as a kid—only a tad bit taller.
“Wow, this is so weird! I didn’t think I’d ever see you again! This is great! Us being at the same school and all~! ” Sora’s words tended to run together into one jumbled mess when he spoke excitedly about something like he was currently, “ How’ve you been, Rox? Gosh, there’s so much to catch up on, huh? It’s been what, 8 years?” He would’ve kept on talking but realized that he may have been talking too much, rambling on and on like he sometimes did, but he was genuinely curious to know how Roxas had been, how his life had been up until now. Part of him wondered if Roxas had even missed him, or if he’d forgotten all about him up until this point. Sora certainly hadn’y forgotten about his cousin, he remembered all those times they had played together when they were younger, or when their cranky and somewhat eccentric grandmother had come to visit and had dressed them both up in…disturbing outfits. Sora remembered all of it and truth be told he missed it [well, with the exception of being dressed like a girl by their senile grandmother…] [/blockquote]

Roxas watched as Sora sat down across the table from him, seeming to have not changed...well that isn't the correct wording...like he hasn't aged...or grown up perhaps? Changed is probably the most appropriate response. Roxas nodded as Sora began to exclaim how weird it was that they had both met each other at this school and yet didn't know this...it was such a strange twist of fate that was both intriguing and...that weird feeling you get when you see someone you care about for the first time in a long time...can't describe it in words.
Sora went on a rampage in the form of words, quick ramblings...at least that hadn't changed. The blonde smiled as he was called Rox...truthfully only Sora and Ven had ever called him that so safe to say it had been a while since he'd heard that nickname. "Yes...eight years," he said, agreeing with Sora. By his count it had been eight years and a few months...but correcting Sora just made him whine...assuming that hadn't changed.
The boy couldn't help but smile at Sora, a small laugh escaping his throat as the boy talked. Sora still seemed the same, happy and excited...like a child exploring the world around them with amazement at everything. "Same old Sor," he said with a small laugh. When he'd first seen Sora...some part of him deep down held a fear that they had changed to much...but as soon as Sora opened his mouth he was at ease...Sora still seemed to be the same...and it made him happy.

As if he had just remembered that he had a reason for being in the Commons, and that was to eat dinner, his stomach growled angrily at him, as if yelling at him to quickly appease his hunger. Sora grinned sheepishly, a little embarrassed by the loudness of his growling stomach, before reaching over and snatching one of his pizza slicers, bringing it up to his lips and taking a giant bite of the cheesy goodness. His eyelids drifted close, enjoying the greasy slice, swallowing his bite and returning his attention to his cousin. Despite them having grown up he realized that Roxas was still as quiet as ever, when they were younger it had always been Sora who did enough talking for the both of them and it seemed like this hadn’t changed at all. Though, he was determined to break Roxas away from his ‘quiet’ nature and get him to open up a little more.
Sora could only hold a one-sided conversation for so long before things got awkward.
“I can’t believe it’s been so long! How’ve you been? How’s life? Got a girlfriend? Play any sports? What’re your hobbies? How’s Ven? ” After his long-winded string of questions, Sora coughed and sucked in a large gulp of air to make up for the lack of oxygen he’d taken in during his rambles. Tilting his head to the side he took another bite of his pizza, slapping it back down onto his plate as he chewed his food thoughtfully, “ So, vhere youf lifing?” So, where you living? He spoke through a mouthful of pizza, not at all keeping up his manners, completely forgetting that it was considered rude and gross to speak with your mouthful. He went to swallow the food in his mouth but ended up breathing at the same time, resulting in the food to go down the wrong pipe and sending Sora into a coughing-choking fit. The islander’s eyes watered, his cheeks burning, as he reached for his juice and gulped it down greedily, washing down his food and ultimately helping to stop his choking. Afterwards he sneezed three times. [Dunno if that happens to you, but after I stop choking on something I always start sneezing afterwards xD] [/blockquote]

Roxas smiled as Sora's stomach pretty much yelled at Sora. If it could talk all you'd hear was 'Feed me you SOB!!!!!!'. The blonde watched as Sora talked on and on taking bites of his pizza in between...or even while he was talking! Apparently Sora wasn't a manners person...or he had just forgotten?
Roxas opened his mouth to answer but Sora just rambled on and on and on and on. It was a wonder he didn't asphyxiate himself because of how much he talked without gasping for air! The eighteen year old let out a small laugh at Sora. "Um....Good, same answer, not currently, yes I do...sort of...and I have hobbies...um...and I'm not sure," came the reply to all of the brunettes questions. Roxas shifted his eyes to the right trying to remember if he'd answered all the questions or not. Of course it wouldn't be surprising if he hadn't...since Sora had spoken so fast!
Then came Sora talking with food in his mouth, earning a sigh from his cousin. Roxas shook his head at Sora's manners...silly Sora. Of course the boy just simply dismissed it as Sora being...well Sora. Where is he living? "Um...Over in Holmes room...203 I think? What about you..." he said trailing off as Sora started choking on his food. The spiky haired blonde rose a brow until his voice went into action. "You alright Sor?" he said with a hint of worry in his voice, naturally reaching over the table to try and tap on Sora's back...something people did often for some reason when someone was coughing or choking.
Roxas sighed when Sora stopped choking sucking up his juice and then...sneezing...that's weird. Well it is Sora so what do you expect? The blonde shook his head at his cousin,"Are you even tasting your food Sor?" the boy questioned, a little bit of a teasing tone in his voice. It was just like old times...except no Ven...he missed Ven.

Be a little more descriptive, yeah? What kind of things are you into? What do you mean you’re sort of into sports? What do you like to play?
|
” He wanted to get Roxas to talk more, and not just his quick few-worded replies, Sora wanted his spiky blond haired cousin to carry just as much of the conversation as he himself was. Realistically, that probably wouldn’t be happening any time soon—they hadn’t seen each other in years and it probably wasn’t likely that Roxas would be comfortable with opening up to him quite yet. They had been close in their younger years but after the divorce Sora and his mother drifted away from that side of the family…as unfortunate as that was. “ No way! You live like…right nextdoor to me! I like in 201 in Holmes! How have we never run into each other?!” It was beyond him. You’d think that living so insanely close to one another they would have seen each other in the halls or something! Roxas must have been one stealthy little bastard. His throat burned each time he swallowed due to the scratches on his esophagus from the partially chewed pizza which turned him off to finishing his food, despite the fact that he was still starving. He didn’t want to take any chances, Sora didn’t particularly feel like dying today—maybe that would teach him to always chew his food before swallowing, that, and not to talk with his mouth full. Probably not though, Sora tended to forget about things quite easily in fact, he’d probably be back to scarfing down his food and talking with his mouth full within the next 10 or so minutes. It was just the way he was, short attention span and all. Sora brought his hand up, wiping away the tears that had stung the corners of his eyes from the choking fit with the back of his sleeve before shooting Roxas a playful glare. “ Har har.” The islander sucked in an indignant breath. Roxas sighed as Sora pouted because he hadn't answered exactly as the boy wanted. Well he did answer him...just not all fancy with you know...details and stuff. He'd hoped Sora was stupid enough not to ask him further. Roxas tilted his head when Sora went on talking...a habit he had for some reason. It helped the boy think...and its not like you can really change habits easily.
"Um...I'm in Archery...if that counts as a sport...and...things...you know normal things like games and books and stuff..." he said, for some reason not being able to deny Sora the more answers he requested...Sora is just evil like that. The blonde male tilted his head as Sora stopped eating...then blurting out in surprise. Roxas flinched when Sora pretty much yelled in excitement at him!
Roxas rubbed the back of his head as Sora gleefully exclaimed they were neighbors. "Oh yeah? I didn't even notice," he said with a small smile gracing his lips. It was quite a small world it seems. The spikey haired boy breathed a sigh of relief as Sora seemed to forget about the subject of Ven...a good thing in his mind. "What about you Sor? All of those questions you asked...heh... I bet your beating off girls with a bat," Roxas said sticking his tongue out a little at his cousin.
Roxas looked to his computer as it made that welcome music and he logged in while Sora probably went on about...well himself of course since that was what was asked. He clicked a button on his pad so that it synced up to the computer, looking at Sora with a smile. He probably wouldn't get much work done with Sora here...oh well this was fun anyway.

A labored yawn as the man strolled around the university campus, class was out for a while and he lifted a hand to his face pinching the bridge of his nose as he went. A few girls here and there eyed him as he passed, some other people just moved aside as the man with a reputation strolled by, though the one or two people he knew from schools that he actually liked got a smile and a wave of a hand as he went. Those people were the ones that got odd stares after he'd actually offered them a smile as it was usually rare for him to give a person the time of day let alone people he hardly knew.
Black orbs glanced the commons as Aster headed off towards the Neverland Diner, once there he got himself some food before he headed back in to the main part of the commons. His eyes glanced for people he could possibly get to know or talk with. No one seemed to jump oput at him before he sighed and then ended up sitting alone. Shrugging his jacket off the man left it on the back of his chair, underneath was a plain shirt though the front was left open part way down. He had a chain around his neck and black trousers on along with shoes that gleamed.
Needless to say? His appearance apart from the tattered old jacket was spotless.
The food he bought just sat on the table.
He suddenly lost his appetite, mainly because the more he looked around the place more depressing the entire idea of University life seemed.
Now he just sat there leaning on the table he sat at. Head in one hand as he zoned out of the current time to chillout within his own mind. His face looked sort of empty as he started to day dream.
His eyes went in and out of focus for a little while till he finally came back to reality and his eyes settled on the blonde and brunette wayyyy across from him. People walked past him and he just sat back another yawn as he face planted the table.
"Bleh. 'Nother boring day in the commons." A grumble as he stayed there with his face pressed against the table. Purple hair covering his face a little from view. Well, if he was going to be alone? May as well relax and just chill out a bit.
That thought was what made him pull an mp3 player from his trouser pocket and unravel the headphones from around it before he slipped the headphones in his ears and then leant back on the chair eyes closed.
Hopefully, no one would bug him. He'd be staying like that for a while, even if he did glance at the two across from him every once in a while.

Definitely not. He clearly wasn’t quite as stupid as Roxas would’ve liked him to be. His fingers curled around the base of his cup, absently swirling the mixed juice, letting it slosh up against the sides of the plastic cup—not enough to spill over the rim, but it came close to it. He leaned forward, his chest resting against the edge of the table as he did so, “Archery? You mean like bows and arrows and stuff—like what Robin Hood used? |
” He didn’t realize how silly he may have sounded, but the story of Robin Hood—stealing from the rich and giving it to the less fortunate—had been a favorite bedtime story of his as a child. “ Yeah? What kind of games? Like board games? Or, you know, stuff like hide-and-seek—which is still fun despite the fact that it’s a kids game.” He felt the need to throw in that last bit, he didn’t want Roxas to think he was still a kid even though he was just because he still enjoyed playing childish pass times such as hide-and-seek and sharks-and-minnows and tag. His lips twitched into a massive grin, exposing his pearly whites, and all in all lighting up Sora’s face. How great was it that, not only did he and Roxas attend the same university, but they lived right next door to each other? It must’ve been fate or destiny or whatever else had control over the grand scheme of things. He had always hoped that he and his cousin would become a part of each other’s lives once again, after their families had drifted apart and it looked like things were finally looking up. “ I never noticed either! Now we can finally make up for lost time.” His grin faltered for a moment but he quickly caught himself, “ Though…my roommate is a little weird, I try to stay away from him so, uh, we probably won’t be able to hang out in my room too often because of him…” The young Islander decided to leave out the part where his roommate had molested him and then chased him all over campus. Shrugging, Sora mentally tried to recall what questions he had asked Roxas. To be honest he had spoken so fast and his mind had been going 100 miles a minute that…he…he couldn’t remember anything that he had said in the past few minutes. Biting his lip he tilted his head to the side, “ I’m good! And I play a lot of sports—mostly soccer, but I play a lot of other things for fun too.” A sheepish laugh passed his lips, “ Haha, me? No way, I don’t have time for girls—soccer’s been keeping me pretty busy and all that.” If anything, it felt like he needed a bat to beat off [haha, oh man this is naughty sounding!] the boys. Truth be told, he didn’t really think any girls were interested in him, though if they were then he more than likely wouldn’t have noticed anyway—he was a little oblivious in that department. Movement caught the corner of his eye just as someone new took the empty table across the room from them, Sora noticed that he had decently long, dark purple hair. The man looked rather lonely and it made Sora want to drag Roxas over there to keep him company, but he fought back the urge for now.[/div] words: 596; tagged: roxie & aster

[cs=2] template made by JADE of KU

Roxas looked at his cousin like he was...well stupid. "Um...yeah...bows and arrows Sora... |
" the boy said, a hint of disbelief in his voice. Then came the question about the games. The blonde put his finger to his lips, blue eyes wandering towards the ceiling as he thought. What kind of games did he play? " Um...like all kinds...board games...video games...that kind of stuff." Of course he didn't say anything about his newest game obsession...Dead Space 2...the only reason he owned an xBox 360. Roxas looked back at his cousin as he brought up hide and go seek. The blonde's lips curled into a smile at that," I remember I was always it because Ven could reach higher places and you were a good hider." A small laugh escaped the boys lips as he recalled the memories of childhood. Roxas nodded as Sora suggested they would be making up for lost time. This was probably true, they seemed to get along well still...and Sora has not seemed to have changed much. All they are missing is Ven. Then Sora said something about his roommate being 'weird'. " Weird how? I haven't met my roommate yet actually..." he said...now that he thought about it he hand't met the boy yet. Roxas smiled as Sora went on to talk about how he was really into sports. It wasn't that surprising...Sora was always the more athletic child of the two. Roxas always did better in school...and could draw t hings that weren't...well stick figures. Then Sora went on to say he didn't have a girlfriend. Roxas laughed a little," I bet, but I'm sure you'll find a girl eventually Sor...your an amazing guy." Roxas smiled at that, Sora was always the nicest person he had ever know...sometimes it was a little annoying but he's family. Roxas didn't perceive the purple haired boy like Sora did...he wasn't Sora after all. All he saw was another kid sitting in the lunch room...seeing no pain or loss...no loneliness or anything of the sort more empathetic people might sense. He just saw a man, probably a little older then themselves, sitting. [/div]

Sighing the man now dug around in his pocket for rolling papers and tabacco, setting the two things on the table along with filters he opened up the packet of tabacco. Since he's been doing this for years he was used to rolling smokes by now so, within moments one was rolled and ready. Of course he had nothing else to do right now so with music blarring in his ears he rolled another, a third, fourth, fifth. He just kept on rolling them till about half the tabacco was gone. With that done he put all his tools away and then stuffed the now rolled cigarettes in one of his jacket pockets. Maybe he should go out for a smoke?
Possibly but then he might miss something interesting (By interesting I mean a bully he can kick the bejesus out of ;;>_>) so he stayed where he was for now.
Now as he glanced back at the two across from him he made eye contact. If only for a moment or two. The indigo haired man shot a look around to see if they were possibly looking at someone else. Nope. Couldn't have been anyone else because there was no one behind him.
So what did Aster do? He slowly, very, VERY, slowly raised a hand up and waved with an expression that possibly looked similar to 0.o;; after that gesture he slowly started to gather his things. Perhaps staying here wasn't the best idea after all. The two didn't look very old, they looked rather young actually, probably first years. They wouldn do no harm.... He hoped.
Of course he thought he recognized the brunette from a few classes perhaps, the blonde? Not so much. Sighing he dug around in his bag and then pulled a packet of potato chips from it before opening the foil bag and starting to eat.
He had nothing else to do so why move for a couple of first years that were staring at him? There was no point hence why he was staying where he was now.

Sora had never seen anyone practice archery in real life and found that he was interested in seeing the sport first hand—maybe he could convince Roxas to let him tag along next time he went to go…arch? Shoot? Sora didn’t know what the verb for Archery was, but he wanted to watch, maybe even learn it as well?
“Weird how?”
“Well… |
” He drew out the ‘L’, trying to think of what to tell Roxas without actually telling him what had happened. It was rather embarrassing and he really didn’t want people to know what had happened in his dorm room that first day with his roommate—why? Well, he didn’t want to be labeled as ‘gay’, and he didn’t want people to know him as ‘that boy who was molested’. Can you say awkward? Well, Sora sure can! And that’s why instead of telling the whole truth he ended up saying something else, “ He’s just a weirdo…I walked in on him watching dirty videos on his computer—it was creepy.” He shuddered. Well, it wasn’t necessarily a lie, Tore-n had indeed been watching disgusting videos…before it happened. He perked up at hearing the compliment Roxas had just gave him, his lips twitched into a bright smile, “ You really think so? Thanks Rox.” He couldn’t shake the feeling that he was being watched, which made him feel a little nervous to think that it could possibly be his roommate creepin’ up on him in the Commons. Sora’s eyes darted around the cafeteria before they landed on the purple haired boy once again. Biting his lip, he turned to Roxas, “ Hey, let’s go and sit with that guy—he looks so lonely!”[/div] words: 306; tagged: rox&aster

[cs=2] template made by JADE of KU

So Sora had a creepy roommate...who watched porn! I mean yeah people watch porn...he knew that...he wasn't one to say he had never watched porn in his life but it was just weird for your first day to be watching porn when your roommate has yet to come.
Roxas smiled as his cousin did. It was nice to compliment family, it made you feel...connected? That would be a good word for it, made you feel like a part of them and their life. The spiky haired blonde clicked on his computer, more like checking the battery life than anything else.
Sora asked about sitting over by the other kid in the corner. The blonde looked quizzically at his cousin, he didn't think he looked lonely...but then again he was not the most empathic person in the world. The freshman pushed down his small laptop, a clicking sound as it locked together was evident. Roxas pushed out his seat with a screech as it dragged across the floor, his body standing up.
Roxas looked at his tablet as he did this, placing it ever so...not so much gently as it was just careful enough that he didn't break it...if that made any sense. With a smile the blonde looked at Sora, picking up his stuff. "Then lets go, |
" he said, waiting for Sora to go first. After all Sora was...well way more social than he was.[/div]
