Zeran walked away from his work place as a DJ and sat down at the bar. He pulled an unopened pack of cigarettes out of his pocket, as well as a lighter. He opened the pack, pulled out a cigarette. Zeran then lit the cigarette and took a long drag. Zeran generally tried to limit himself to two a night, and no more within a 24 hour period. He didn't want to be a pack a day smoker, in fact he didn't want to be a smoker at all when it came right down to things.
"Hey, could I get a coke over here?" Zeran asked, holding the cigarette between his left index and middle fingers as he spoke before putting it back into his mouth. He took another long drag, then took the cigarette out again to take a sip of his drink before putting it back in. When that cigarette was expended, he crushed it into the ash tray and took a pack of breath mints out of his pocket and popped one into his mouth to mask the bad breath before taking another sip of the coke. It was kind of lonely to be on break with no one to talk to.

Texia wasn't sure why she would even bother to enter a place like a dance club. It was always loud, bright, and filled with people, everything she hated. However, she needed much experience with people, as the first one she'd met didn't take that much of a liking to her. They were semi-friends, and Texia planned to visit again as to try to get on better terms with that worker. Making her way to the bar, she figured she'd get something to drink before looking for someone to talk to. When she sat down, she noticed a strange boy with odd silver hair. Was it natural? If not, what an odd choice of color. Either way, it made her task of talking to someone much easier. To have to go through that crowd of people would have been a nightmare.
"Um, may I have some water to drink?" she asked the bartender, as polite as she could. Because it was only common sense to do so when requesting something. When she got her water, she sat next to the silver haired boy and simply said,
"Hello."

Zeran started a little when Texia came over and spoke to him. He hand't been expecting it at all. Zeran sighed a little. "Hey." he said, turning towards Texia. "So what brings a pretty girl like you to a place like this?" Zeran asked this in sarcastic tone, not because Texia was unattractive, but because many student came here after school.
Zeran happened to be there because he worked there and was currently on break, himself. Zeran pushed a hand back through his hair and looked around. "So, I'm guessing you're a student at KU? You definitely look the part if you're not. Maybe you could sneak in." Zeran joked. He shifted a little uncomfortably. He wans't exactly the social butterfly himself, so he tended to make awkward mistakes on occasion.
Zeran looked at Texia. "What's your name? I'm Zeran, Zeran Heartt." Zeran said, scratching the back of his head a little. He felt a little out of place in the general atmosphere of the party, but it payed, and it involved music, so he put up with the breaks that came with his job, even if he'd rather just have his entire shift in one large block.

"Why I'm here? To practice talking to people. It seems when I ask honest questions, people look at me weirdly. A lot of people must come here, so I figured it would be a perfect place for me to observe their behavior and try to have a conversation with someone without getting weird stares. I almost convinced myself that I would have to go out onto the dance floor, however then I saw you just sitting here and decided to talk to you instead." Texia said. This boy, Zeran, asked many questions.
"I do happen to be a student at Kingdom University, a first year, so I probably should look like I am, I think. If I tried to sneak in, well, why would I do that? It's much easier just applying." It seemed like a silly suggestion to her, but many of her thoughts didn't exactly match up with others' thoughts. Besides, if she'd actually considered trying to sneak in, well, that wouldn't work out. It'd be impossible to even get out of her family's manor in the first place. Her parents went way overboard with keeping her away from harm and sheltered. Oh! He wanted my name! she realized.
"My name is Texia Shigura, it's very nice to meet you Mister Zeran Heartt." She stuck out her hand in a polite greeting.

"Thanks for the company." Zeran said. "I can definitely understand someone wanting to practice talking to people. I'm not really a large group person, I'd rather have a small group of close friends than be 'friends' with everyone in the school."
"Heh, another first year? I'm a first year too. I'm also the DJ here." Zeran said. "And I was just joking. I wasn't suggesting you should actually break in to the university, yeah, applying would probably be much easier, and could sometimes be fun, actually. I'm guessing you're kind of sheltered?" Zeran sort of meant this tongue in cheek, but at the same time was actually asking. His mind tended to go to unlikely places in common conversations sometimes.
"There's no need to call me 'mister' or even use my last name. You can just call me Zeran." Zeran said, not entirely sure where the 'Mister Zeran Heartt' came from at all. "No need to be so formal. I'm just an average guy. I'm not going to be a superstar for a good 10 years or so. That was another joke by the way, I'm not actually expecting to be famous someday."

Texia smiled. Zeran wasn't good at conversing either! Now that this was true, they could both help each other. This was probably the first time she'd met a person who actually shoot her a confused look when she talked. And that itself was huge progress in her mind.
"Your welcome for being company, I'm not a group person either. I'd rather have good friends I can count on. Besides, if you or I was friends with everyone in the school, wouldn't it be hard to keep track of them all and talk to them? So just a few friends are enough for me." This was definitely true. Sure, she'd been a bit of a social butterfly (a kind of awkward one at that,) in these past few days, but talking to people and being friends were two different matters all together, weren't they?
"Oh, we're in the same grade! I wonder, are we in any of the same classes?" Her and Zeran seemed to have a good amount in common. They were both first years, needed practice talking, and shared some opinions. Texia sipped her water before continuing. "And about sneaking into school, I guess I should have assumed you were joking. It would seem fun however only if you succeed. I lived in my manor for about my whole life, and I had to annoy my parents to get them to allow me to come here. I'm glad I did, since I'm haivng more fun here than I ever have. Well, that might not be true, actually. I snuck out to town with my brother's help once, but I got caught. And that was definitely not enjoyable. The town was though." Texia wasn't sure why she revealed her extremely boring past to Zeran. It would definitely not be good if she bored him! Yet, when he asked about it, she naturally revealed everything. She'd have to improve this habit of hers. He questioned her formal address of him, apparently that was something else she'd need to keep note of.
"I usually always have to address people like that. Sorry, I'll call you just Zeran then. About the superstar, well, I guess I'll have to learn when people are joking or not. That seems to be my biggest problem. Thank you for pointing that out this time though. If you do end up being famous, I'll definitely send you fan mail, or something like that."

She'd lived her whole life in a manor, that explained why she didn't seem to get the sarcastic quips Zeran was making. "I hear that about the friends. If you're friends with everyone, what's the point of having friendship with someone? You don't really get to know person." Zeran said before taking a sip of his coke.
"I'm not entirely sure if we're in any classes together, hopefully so though. It'd be nice to have someone I know in the same class as me." Zeran said. "I'm guessing you're rich then? I got into KU because my Dad's a professor there. I'm guessing you don't have him since you're a first year. He teaches environmental chemistry . . . he's . . . strange, to put it mildly. I'd go into more detail, but I'm in polite company at the moment."
"Hey, if you've never really come in contact with it, humor and sarcasm are hard to get a hang of. Thanks for the sentiment, if I do get famous, though I doubt I will. I'm a good pianist, but I'm no Mozart." Zeran said. "though I do enjoy Mozart's music."

Texia nodded as Zeran talked. It was nice to know she found a friendly person to converse with. She agreed fully with the friend topic, and instead of voicing so, she decided to simply nod. As the matter of their classes arose, Texia's face lit up.
"Oh! It'd be great to know someone in my classes! I have four classes, Drawing, Digital Illustrations, General Chemistry, and Introduction to Theatre. Are you in any of those?" she asked. As she said them, she listed them on her fingers. Just to make sure she mentioned them all. She closed her eyes and laughed in an embarrassed fashion.
"Yeah, I am rich. My parents payed for me to go here. Your father, well, no, I haven't heard of him. However, I haven't heard of many people so it shouldn't be such a surprise. However, how is he strange? There are a lot of strange things..." For a second, Texia furrowed her eyebrows in thought. Her mind drifted to how Zeran's father could be 'strange'. Was he odd in behavior? Or maybe his personality was a bit off... Her thoughts were cut short when he talked about his piano skills.
"Oh, well when I see a famous pianist by the name of Zeran Heartt, I'll be sure to announce "I know him!" and send you lots of fanmail and attend all your concerts. Mozart is a very good composer, and even though I'm not a big music person, I do find his music very nice. Perhaps I'll get to hear you play sometime, when you're not on a big stage with a cheering crowd and all that is."

"Oh, Drawing with Professor Arovka and General Chemistry with Hild Ravencroft?" Zeran asked. "I'm in those classes. Not in Digital Illustrations or Theater though. " Zeran's face turned a little grim as the subject of his father came up again. "There are to many things to mention about my father that are strange, including that he puts absinthe in his tea, when he's drunk he refuses tow ear pants (thank god he's a goofy drunk, not an angry drunk), and he turns completely normal when he walks into his classroom." Zeran took a deep breath, then dropped the subject.
"Ah. My Family's not rich, it's well enough off, but I definitely wouldn't say we're rich." Zeran said. "Oh, I wouldn't expect to see a famous anything named Zeran Heartt, personally. I'm not being self depreciating, I just know tat I probably won't be famous, I've got limitations that put me below many of the stars." Zeran was actually being self depreciating, and simply not having as much self esteem as he could. Zeran didn't think he was as good as he actually was. He wasn't really a prodigy, but he was pretty skilled.

Texia's face brightened as Zeran began to speak. So they had two classes together! At least she now didn't have to fear being in a room with all complete strangers. And with the classes of Theatre and Digital Illustrations, well, she already knew Mr. Ryuzaki Ryuga for Illustrations, and her brother just had to be in Theatre, so now she had absolutely no worries about feeling nervous in class. Smiling, she let out a small laugh.
"Yay! That means I know at least one person in all of my classes! When hey start, I'll be sure to look out for you, okay Zeran?" Then, he went on to somewhat elaborate on his father. Listening attentively, she then kind of understood what he meant by "strange". Zeran's father seemed to do some things... Not normal. And to be not normal was strange, and Texia left it at that.
He then went on about his future fame status. He said he didn't think he'd be famous some day, and that he was below stars level. Putting on a bit of a determined face, Texia did her best to sound supportive.
"With enough practice, I'm sure you'll get better and better, and you'll reach fame someday! And, well, hm, I'm sure at least someone named Zeran Heartt will be famous... The world's a big place. I guess I'll just have to assume it's you..."

"Sounds good, I'll keep an eye out for you too. Just warning you though, I'm kind of . . . okay, really moody." Zeran said shrugging it off. It wasn't the least of his issues, but Zeran did have mood swings with rather odd frequency, but it wasn't as if it was a mental disease, the mood swings had a very wide variety, though they did tend to be negative emotions that he swung between. Zeran was honestly feeling strangely chill right now.
"Well, Zeran's not exactly a common name, so I guess it would be kind of safe to assume that if one becomes famous, it probably will be me. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but there are surprisingly few people that play piano solely by ear." Zeran said. "I can't actually read a note of sheet music. It really doesn't make that much sense to me when I look at it." Zeran looked over Texia, she was cute, but she wasn't really his type, so he decided trying something would be out of the question. Besides, Zeran had a bit of thing for girls with unnatural hair color, especially pink.

Texia nodded as Zeran talked about their classes. When he finished speaking, she went right into a reply.
"Yeah, I'll look for you too. Although, it seems I'm never on time for class, so you might be waiting a little while. But I'll always get there eventually! And, about your moodiness, I guess I'll have to deal with it when it comes to that." If Zeran happened to be in a bad mood, she probably would still talk to him. If he was in a good mood, she'd still talk to him. So, it was a win-win situation.
As he talked about his future fame status, he brought up the matter of reading notes. He claimed to play by ear, and Texia found that pretty cool. She'd had a few music lessons in her life, although she would never say she was any good. As Zeran finished, Texia thought for a moment.
"That's really cool you can play by ear. I don't have much experience with music, but I can recognize a few of the notes on a staff. I can try and help you if you want, some time," she offered. Then, she put on a wide grin. "If I do that, I'll have the right to say I helped teach the great pianist, Zeran Heartt, I read music!"
