Nathaniel has semi-long dark green hair. It reaches just past his chin excluding his bangs, which only go as far as the bottom of his eye. It also happens to have a somewhat "fluffy" look to it... Anyways, his golden eyes somewhat contrast with his hair, and sometimes they seem to glow in bright lighting. This adds to a dark kind of effect he sometimes gives off, especially when his hate shadows his face. Like This However, even without shadows, he still looks downcast and dreary naturally, although it's more of a cynical look when he's angry. It doesn't help he usually wears bored, unhappy, or incredulous expression. Smirking is as close as he gets to smiling, unless he's eating some kind of sweet.
To match his nature, his clothing usually consists of dark colors, with the occasional white to contrast with certain outfits. His style also varies depending on the occasion. In everyday life, he just throws on jeans, sneakers, and a usually black sweatshirt. For more formal events, well, nicer pants (black), and a fancy shirt (simplistic).

Okay, someone's first impression of Nathaniel is the stereotypical arrogant prick. Now, this is pretty true, to some extent. He tends to act rude and very cold towards people, and even ignoring some of them all together if they get on his nerves*coughSoracough*When he meets new people, his first reaction is to glare at them, and maybe tell them off if they don't leave right away. If they persist, he'll do his best to avoid them or ignore them, whichever is possible. If they continue to bug him, he'll lose his cool entirely and probably break something.
Another thing about him is that he has a superiority complex. He loves being in control, and reigning over everyone, and absolutely hates it when anyone says or does otherwise. This includes doing something he doesn't like or didn't command, and simply saying they're better than him in any way. Nathaniel, if ever outshined or overpowered, will get majorly pissed. At this point, he'll probably resort to extreme violence, in which adults will have to stop as he can go overboard.
Nathaniel has an extreme hatred for depression, or depressed people. This is due to his little sister committing suicide due to being in a depressed state for so long. If he hears or sees anything or anyone related to it, he'll freak out, although how he does so depends on the situation. If he finds a depressed person, he'll act very much out of character and try to help them get out of it. He hopes to someday say he at least saved someone from suicide, as he was deeply hurt by his sister's death. Despite the fact he tends to cause pain to others himself, he believes there's none worse than losing a relative to self harm because you have the knowledge that they wanted to die early.
On the bright side,Nathaniel has an extreme love for sweets. Cakes, cupcakes, candy, snacks, plain sugar, dessert, he likes them all. He doesn't have them stashed all around, only carrying a cookie or two for when he's really hungry. He mainly gets his treats from Just Desserts, although often at late hours when almost no one's there. This is because he despises anyone knowing about his obsession. He finds it slightly embarrassing, although not enough to neglect the food. If anyone does happen to find out, he gets all flustered and uncomposed. He also goes into immediate denial of liking the food, even if he's obviously lying.
Lastly, in a short paragraph, we shall end with the fact that Nathaniel here smokes. He's not obsessed, and only has 2-3 a day, but he's not trying to stop either. He doesn't like the fact he does it, but, well, he just finds it no use trying to quit. (Does that make sense?) If some ingenius way to stop smoking right away like this *snaps* appears, he'll gladly try it. For now, he's just limiting himself.

Nathaniel's childhood started out average. In living standards, his life was very much mediocre. In family standards, things were just a little below mediocre. His father wasn't the nicest man. He didn't really care about his children, and only honestly loved his wife Florence. He felt the children were taking up too much of her time, and therefore tried to keep her away from them even when they were infants, although when Iris was an infant, Nathaniel was about three.
Anyways, the two siblings desperately tried to be near their mom, and grew to somewhat dislike their father. They didn't hate him, since he didn't do anything to hurt them. What was wrong was that their father tried to limit his wife's time with the children, although she still managed to properly raise them and care for them. He took her away any chance he could, which greatly upset the two children. The only time they were ever together as a functioning family was when Nathaniel's mom cooked dessert. Everyone loved her cooking, and it was a somewhat "truce" between their father as he did nothing to prevent them from being with Florence. This is why Nathaniel loves sweets today, and why he doesn't want to give them up no matter how embarrassing he thinks it is.
While these times were okay, as time went on Nathaniel's dislike grew more serious than Iris's, since he was more mature. He actually went to the point of seriously hating the man at the age of twelve. He starting yelling and picking fights with his father whenever he tried to take his mom away, and this eventually sometimes led to violence. Nathaniel was doing it all with his sister in mind, in how it was unfair she had such limited time with her own mother when she was still young. He convinced himself he wasn't as affected, but he missed his mom too nonetheless. It was these times that were hardest, and he didn't realize that Iris was growing unhappier by the day. The Greenwood house became a constant battlefield between his father and him by the time he was fifteen.
Everything just got horribly worse when Florence died. She was hit by a truck in the process of saving Iris who's wandered onto the street one day, using her own body as a shield. Nathaniel's father didn't hold back on them anymore, and became a very violent person. He had daily physical fights with Nathaniel and yelled at Iris almost everytime he saw her, blaming her for his wife's death. This enraged Nathaniel and as the fighting got more intense by the day, Iris started to become depressed and secluded in her room. Neither of her family members noticed though, since they were focused on each other.
And one day, Iris couldn't take it. She committed suicide.
It was late at night, and a daily cargo truck was coming by. She deliberately ran in front of it, dying instantly. Nathaniel happened to see her do it, since he couldn't sleep and was staring out his window which faced the street. He was horrified, and while he tried to reason it was all his father's fault, he knew deep down it was his as well for fighting and not noticing how hurt she was. This hurt him a lot, especially when the authorities ruled it as an accident since he was the only witness. His father didn't want any kind of charges, so he lies to the police saying Iris sleep walked constantly, and managed to convince everyone. Except Nathaniel. Instead of fighting more with his father though, after Iris's death, it just stopped. It was like he didn't have the will anymore after losing his sister. The father and son ignored each other's existences, and rarely saw each other. He stayed at school a lot, and became a loner and outcast, becoming rude and hostile to anyone who approached him.
When it came time to go to college, he was thoroughly unprepared. He didn't know what to do, and didn't have any kind of talent or skill he really enjoyed. However, an ad in the newspaper for Kingdom University caught his eye, and he became very interested in One of the areas, and worked towards the goal of getting in.
When he finally made it in, he acted very secluded and cold towards everyone. Yet somehow, he's been grudgingly (for some) accepted in the social circle of "college". However, many rumors about him have been spread, the most popular being him and Alex Craig are actually twins who are trying to grow away from each other gradually. Nathaniel has a strong dislike for this rumor, as it makes him think of his real sibling, which he doesn't like to think about a lot. He doesn't dislike Alex her(him)self, though. (I need to ask Kishi whether Nathaniel should know Alex's secret or not... And whether they're on good terms... Or not).
