The straights shimmered shiny wet silver as the rain drizzled down miserably, and as the citizens of Radiant Gardens hurried back to their day jobs our homes to escape the rain, a certain fed-up jacketless brunette trudged down the streets in a mood that only the rain could describe. Bloody hell, she hated rain, and it would be the day she’d forgotten her umbrella, it was just typical! Of all the days it had to rain as well, why did the heavens choose to open today, when her arms were filled with the very books she had to study. Her hair stuck to her head, as rain water dribbled off her chin before it dripped to the floor joining the other wet armies that seemed to only strive to make Allora’s life difficult.
She only had herself to blame, and Allora could almost hear her mother’s unsympathetic tone in her head, chastising her - if she’d brought a coat she wouldn’t be in this mess. In her defence it hadn’t been raining this morning, in fact it had been quite lovely, the sun had been shining the birds had been singing, it had been too good to be true. It had also been the reason she’d chosen the longer detour through the park, the scenic route didn’t seem so beautiful anymore. Throwing her head down she buried her face into the mountain of books that sat in her hands, titles ranging from Jane Eyre to Alice in Wonderland were her only protection from the cold weather, she didn’t care if they blurred her vision, it wasn’t as if she could see through the rain anyway.
It was probably the reason she didn’t see that awkward tree root or the person walking towards her... Before Allora knew it; her books had flown everywhere as she went soaring into the person in front of her landing a clatter on the cold wet floor. Her chestnut speckled eyes widened with horror as her lips spluttered readymade apologies.
“O-oh my god,” she began embarrassedly, her face flushing a thousand shades of pink “I’m so sorry!” she said jumping up as fast as her legs could manage, her cheeks promptly turning a cherry red.
