Her long green hair was tied up in a curly ponytail, her long side bangs falling in soft curls as her fringe stopped just above her eyes. Her slim delicate looking body was covered by a loose but frilly white shirt and bell bottom jeans that curved to her frame. Her delicate feet were covered by silver ballet slippers and an anklet around her ankle. The only form of jewelry on her person as her expression remained emotionless as everyone passed her by. She held her teddy bear a little closer to her person but that was the only sign of her unease. Inside though she was a mess of emotions, her thoughts were running rampant and looking for a way out of her but she remained detached.
Her legs were crossed in front of her as though she was wearing a dress and her eyes watched the face of everyone that ventured a little too close to her. Her sharp golden gaze always making them falter and redirect their course away from her as though they had a second thought about approaching Kaitlynn. The small release of breath was the only other sign of her distress, a sigh. All the while her thoughts run along the lines of ‘What am I supposed to do? I’m bored and I have no one to talk to.’ Worry and loneliness filling her as she watched people pass her and as she watched friends giggle as they told each other things. She knew her upbringing was significantly different from other children and she wondered if that hindered her at all. After all she’d been pitted against her sister and nearly forced to be perfect. She hadn’t had time to actually have a life or grow the necessary social skills that would help her grow in this kind of environment. Her first year here she’d kept to herself and never made herself obvious, she always stayed alone. This year though…She wanted something different. [/style]

What a place to be. Zexion hand't been here in a while. In fact it had been a couple years since he had dared to set foot here in the park. He had come here with his mother a lot when he was little and when she was still alive. He had rejected the thought of coming here for a very long time. Now he was standing here at the entrance to it. What should he do? He began to walk. He walked down the pavement sidewalk. He didn't know where he was going, he was just walking. His eyes were constantly moving, almost as if he were going down memory lane. But there was so much about this place that he didn't remember. Then again, it had been awhile and they had probably change it some. It was beautiful now with all the flowers.
It was a little ways down the path when Zexion spotted a girl sitting in a bench glaring at everyone who passed by her. He stopped unexpectedly and studied her for a moment. She held a little teddy bear close to her, which screamed her insecurity. Was she afraid of everyone? Of what they were capable of or who they were? He couldn't tell. Though there was something else there in her eyes. Something that Zexion understood perfectly well. That one feeling that everyone else called loneliness. Just watching her made Zexion want to understand her more. But in a different way then he was used to. Instead of using his little experiments to watch another's reactions, he would rather find where she hurts and understand how she feels.
Without thinking his feet began to move towards her. His expression stayed as cold, emotionless. There was no judgement in his gaze, but neither was there any warmth. If there was one thing Zexion was horrible at, it was talking to people. Well... Talking to people as if they were friends anyway. He wasn't much of a people person which was mainly why he was alone most of the time. Every now and again he would go out with a good friend and what not. But not very often. He was usually too busy studying for school, doing some random project, or just reading/writing things down.
The moment he stood in front of her his expression softened. He couldn't help it. Though he wasn't really sure what to do next. He sat beside her slowly so that he didn't startle her, nor did he want her to run off or anything. He did it so that he was level with her and not standing above her like an authoritative figure. Then he looked out into the crowd silently.
For a moment he didn't speak, and when he did speak he turned back to face her with a gentle voice. There was no smile on his face, but he was kind anyway. "My name is Zexion Layton. What is yours?"

Everyone seemed to second guess themselves the minute her gaze met theirs and although she would never say it aloud, it hurt. At least she’d thought that until she felt someone’s gaze on her and she met the most startling eyes ever. Her eyes widened a bit when she saw that a young man was approaching her, his gaze cold and emotionless as he approached. Her arms tightened around her teddy as she watched him, her gaze unconsciously sharpening as he continued towards her. Her mind a rush of emotions as he came closer and closer unlike all the other people who’d ended up straying away from Kaitlynn at the last minute. Hope and panic began to bubble up in her chest making her feel like she was suffocating. Hope that someone finally worked up the nerve to talk to her and panic of what she should do. She was rarely if ever in these situations, after all people usually avoided her.
While inwardly she was a tornado of emotions, her outside appearance didn’t change from her emotionless expression. However, when he stopped in front of her and suddenly she saw the softened gaze in his eyes a flash of surprise flickered through her eyes before she looked away. Kaitlynn’s heart started thundering in her chest at the sudden softening of expression from this unknown young man. She’d never seen an expression like that aimed at her and it made her ache a little on the inside. It was a look she’d often wished her mother or father would give to her in hopes to know they loved her. She said nothing to the young man, peaking at him from under her lashes. She watched him carefully, tightening her grip on her teddy as he sat down slowly but purposefully.
Kaitlynn could feel her tense body and slowly relaxed it little by little as time passed and he did nothing but sit next to her. She stole a few glances at him from time to time. Flashes of curiosity revealed in her gaze before being hidden by a blank look once more. She started slightly when he finally spoke and she turned to him, a softly spoken ‘huh?’ his answer at first before what he said and asked finally registered. A light flush across her cheeks colored her crème complexion prettily before she answered quietly, “I’m…My name is Kaitlynn Larietta.â€
Her light accent made her voice lilt when she said her name in introduction while she watched him curiously. “Zexion….†She rolled his name around in her mind as she said it aloud as though testing the feel of it on her tongue. Her tone, if someone could say she actually had one, was almost thoughtful as she repeated his name. After she was done thinking about how his name sounded against her accent and storing it to memory along with his face, Kaitlynn watched him carefully. “It is a very strong name.â€
It was a compliment in a way. Kaitlynn’s mother had drilled into her that names were very important, especially names of important people. Names had power and depending on a person’s name it would either lead them into success or lead them into being shunned and hated. Kaitlynn didn’t know the fate of her name yet and neither did she know the fate of this Zexion boy’s name. All she knew was that she liked his name and it sounded like a good strong name. So she said that, just not in so many words. [/style]
