[/size]Height: 5'9"
Weight: 143lbs
Hair Color/Style: His hair is unruly sandy blond, constantly in a state of disarray, falling in his eyes in just the right places to add to his attractiveness. While he does comb through it every morning, his hair tends to retain the disheveled look that he wakes up with, making his morning ritual of combing it seem rather unnecessary since, looks-wise, it really doesn't affect the way his hair looks at all.
Face Claim: Heiwajima Shizuo - Durarara!
Brief Overview:Kousuke is an attractive man, there's no denying it, and he knows that he's good looking [whether that's a good thing or not.]. He's not insanely tall but he definitely wouldn't be classified as short in stature either, standing straight at 5'9" he might be considered to be a little under the average height of a man his age, but it doesn't bother him in the least, he's very comfortable in his body. Weighing about 143lbs, which mostly consists of lean muscle, it could be said that Kousuke is just a little under the normal weight of someone of his height, but it's not by much, only a few pounds or so.
His eyes are naturally a little more narrow than most [due to his japanese heritage from his mother's side of the family] which gives others the impression that he's glaring at them [though, more often than not he is, for one reason or another.]. On the subject of his eyes, they're a deep amber hue, a dominant trait from his father's family. His eyes are usually shaded by a pair of amethyst tinted sunglasses.

[lol, copy and paste ftw >.>]
On Kousuke's inner left thigh there is the raised and glossy impression of a scar, pink in coloration and 1.5 inches in length, an ugly reminder of how careless he had been as a child. [/left][/size]

Overview: Kousuke likes being an authority figure, having the power to do as he pleases without being questioned about his methods. He believes in the power of wealth and status as well as that there is a price for everything and in order to gain anything of value in life you need to pay the price known as hard work. This may seem a little hypocritical of him, seeing as he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and never really had to worry about working a day in his life growing up--but he stands by his opinion.
He functions best when it's quiet, when the immediate area around him is void of any noise; this is the type of environment that he likes best, the preferred setting for a thinker. Loud and unexpected noises set him off and trigger his anger--for the most part he's able to keep his cool, hiding behind a calm and collected façade.
Kou tends to rely on logic to solve many of his problems, looking for a solution that perhaps others haven't thought of yet. He's always looking for a way to one-up his rivals so that he comes out on top of whatever situation he's thrust into, making him seem a little cold and calculating.
To others, he comes off as sarcastic and cold, and not to mention a tad intimidating [whether it be from his icy stare or the position he holds at Kingdom University], making people, for the most part, want to avoid him as much as possible.
Kousuke isn't the type of man who is able to show affection towards others very easily, in fact, that's partly the reason why people have called him cold-hearted. With that said, he's not completely incapable of feeling those sorts of emotions...but don't hold your breath, you'd have to, somehow, worm your way into his good graces in order to catch even the tiniest of glimpse of him showing any sort of emotion [that doesn't involve sarcasm, irritation, snappy remarks, or coldness in general.] If you're daring enough to try something of the likes
In public he exudes an air of professionalism, it's important for him to keep face when it comes to his job, being that he's rather young [since most college Dean's are usually middle aged or older] he doesn't want the community to think that he's not fit to hold the position of Dean.
While you would think that someone working in the administrative educational field would simple adore children with every fiber of their being...that's not exactly the case with Kousuke. He's not adverse to children in general, it's more like the unruly, loud, obnoxious slackers that he's taken a great dislike to. Kousuke likes kids who are hard workers, going above and beyond to make the grade. Those are the types of kids [the term 'kids' is used rather loosely in this situation, since university students are considered 'adults' now, whether they act it or not] that he enjoys.
Being at the top of the hierarchical ladder he's often very stressed out, but he found [at a decently young age, I might add] that smoking is a great stress-reliever and easily calms his grated nerves, even after a particularly long and stressful day. Though, cigarettes aren't his only vice--he has a love of fine cuisine, even going so far as to learn complicated recipes so that he can replicate his favorite foreign dishes.

Father: Thierry Arsène Devreaux, 58
Siblings: Azami Céline Devreaux, 22 [Akane's twin]
Akane Bijou Devreaux, 22 [Azami's twin]
Home town: Radiant Gardens
Overview: Kousuke was the first child born to Thierry and Chitose Devreaux.
A little background history on the Devreaux family. They were one of the first families to settle in Radiant Gardens way back when, they worked hard with a couple other families [who had come to settle the land with them] to create the city that is known today as Radiant Gardens. Their fortune stemmed from their hard work on creating the city and they easily became one of the more prominent and wealthy family's of Radiant Gardens.
As time progressed their wealth and societal power grew, they basically ran the city and had enough pull within the government that if they didn't like something that was going on within the city then they themselves had the power to change it. It wasn't long before their power overwhelmed that of the government, descendants of the founding families took their rightful seats at the head of the government, making the former city leaders step down from their position.
Fast forward, let's get back to Kousuke.
As mentioned before, he was the first child born to Thierry, a direct descendant of the original Devreauxs, and Chitose, a young woman of japanese [well, the equivalent of what japanese would be in this fictional world] descent. Kousuke was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, rich and spoiled like any other child who comes from a prominent wealthy family.
His parents were high-class business and governmental officials and so they rarely had time to raise their child, leaving that job to the Nanny. The first few years of his life he was taught things that normal children at that age learn; colors, reading, spelling, shapes, and what have you.
Thierry and Chitose were never around much, it was just Kousuke and Miss Analiese [his Nanny] for a very long time. By his parents orders, she rarely ever let him go outside if only for the fact that they didn't want him getting hurt or sick--though Miss Analiese knew that this would more than likely hurt the boy more than it would protect him since his immune system wouldn't develop properly with him always being stuck inside. So against her better judgment and her employers wishes, she would let Kousuke go out and play in the back yard of their home, but only when she knew for a fact that his parents wouldn't be home anytime soon.
It was on such occasion that Kousuke was outside when he had his first accident, as a result that was also the last day Miss Analiese held a job with the Devreauxs.
Kousuke had gone outside to play, under miss Analiese's supervision, of course, but at some point she had gone inside to take an important phone call regarding her sister who was in the hospital. The young boy grew tired of playing with his action figures and moved on to a more exciting game, something he'd never really tried before but had always wanted to; tree climbing. So he picked his target and slowly started scaling one of the tall oak trees, he was about 15 feet off the ground when Miss Analiese came back outside and demanded that he climb back down before he got hurt. Startled by her sudden appearance, Kousuke lost his balance and fell back. The branches below him broke his fall, luckily the height that he had fallen wasn't terribly far but it wasn't the height that was the problem...
He woke up hours later in a pristine hospital room to the sounds of a sobbing Miss Analiese and the furious baritone of his father's voice. When Kousuke had fallen out of the tree one of the branches that he'd gone through had snapped and lodged itself in his left thigh, the doctors had to surgically remove the wood, sterilize the wound and stitch it up. He would forever bare the reminder of that day, the day he'd cost Miss Analiese her job for being a reckless little boy, the day he'd received his first scar.
From that moment on his parents kept close surveillance on Kousuke, instead of leaving him in the hands of a Nanny or maid they'd take him along with them on their business trips--something incredibly boring to a young child such as him. It was around that time that his parents began to teach him about government, power, and the importance of wealth and status and how you won't get very far in life without these things.
Later that year his mother gave birth to identical twins, his little sisters, Akane and Azami. Kousuke had never had to deal with other children before so he didn't really know how to react to them, they cried, and whined, and pooped, and craved constant attention--it was the most irritating thing his 12 year old self had ever experienced! But over the years he grew to love them, they were family, his flesh-and-blood after all. That, and once they got over their terrible twos they were well-behaved little girls, not at all as rowdy and obnoxious as they had initially been.
He and his sisters weren't particularly close, he looked out for them and made sure that no harm came to them but that was pretty much the extent of their relationship. While his sisters were sent away to an all girls boarding school where they would learn etiquette and proper manners, he remained in Radiant Gardens learning the ins and outs of the governmental system, noticing every blemish and scuff mark. Like his parents, he began to develop a thirst for power. Growing up Kousuke had never noticed it, but now that he was older he did, he and his family were at the top of the hierarchical ladder that governed Radiant Gardens [and to a lesser extent, Kingdom University]--Kousuke liked knowing that people looked to his family for guidance and leadership.
Shortly after he turned 28 he was appointed as the Dean of Kingdom University, an honor in itself. Kousuke was the youngest college Dean in history. Ordinarily the Dean of College would be hand picked by the school administrative board, someone who was a seasoned veteran of the educational system--Kousuke's family, as well as the remaining descendants of the founding families made up the school administrative board and rather than seeing their precious University, the one that their forefathers had worked so hard to keep out of the reach of those who were beneath them, out of the hands of someone who would let whoever they pleased in. They knew that from a young age their thoughts and beliefs had been ingrained into Kousuke's mind, he knew exactly who should and shouldn't be accepted into their beloved private University and they had high hopes that he would not let them down.
And for the most part he hasn't, though while the descendants of the founding families believe that it's wealth, status and power that will get you everything that you want out of life [which, he also partly believes due to his upbringing], he believes that it also takes extreme amounts of hard work to get you where you want to go. He admires those who get in on scholarships the most because they have worked their asses off to get here, while others simply slacked off and had their parents pay for their entrance into Kingdom University.
Now, at 32, Kousuke's finding that life as the Dean, while a reward in itself, is also quite stressful...will he be able to handle it? We'll find out...
