Brief Overview:

kyou is a fairly attractive boy, though he'd never claim as such. he's a bit on the short side at 165 centimeters (about five foot five inches), but that doesn't bother him any at all. he's quite comfortable in his own body and his 53 kilograms (about one hundred eighteen pounds) consist of mostly muscle and very little body fat. for his age and height, his weight is about average.

his hair is blond and often looks a bit messy despite the fact that he combs it regularly. he doesn't normally do much to it, letting it hang in a natural fashion that frames his face. his eyes are naturally a light blue color. he's quite toned, from many years spent keeping himself in good shape. he's a little on the pale side because he doesn't spend much time outside, thanks to his position as heir to ichihara enterprise.

most often, he wears suits. black business suits, sometimes blue or white or some other color. vests beneath the jacket, over pressed dress shirts. slacks and shiny shoes. there's hardly a time when he's not dressed this way, as it's what is expected of him. even when he's allowed to dress more casually, he tends to still wear very formal clothing.

there is the rare occasion, however, that he can be found wearing really nice jeans with a graphic-tee under a nice semi-formal jacket. when he's told he can be less formal, he does trade his dress shoes for a pair of black converse. he's also a big fan of bracelets and chokers, likes wearing rings, often paints his nails (usually black), and his ears are pierced. he's also dyed his hair before, often brunet or auburn or even black.

ღ sweets. while he loves food in general, for the most part, he's fascinated by sweets. if he doesn't have any candy or anything nearby, he'll eat straight sugar until he gets some.
ღ sports. though he prefers soccer, tennis, and martial arts, he likes most sports at least a little, with the exception of football anyways. soccer is by far his favorite though.
ღ animals and plushies. they're soft and cuddly. he absolutely loves dogs and he's always wanted one of his own. as for plushies, he loves them and has plenty in his room at home and in his dorm.
ღ coloring books. though he's technically a little old for such a childish thing, he loves to relax and color in a coloring book from time to time.
ღ anime and manga. he can never get enough of anime and manga, partaking in both on a regular basis and rarely getting tired of either at all.
ღ video games. when he gets the chance, he likes to sit down and play some video games, both alone and with anyone that wants to join in.

✗ vegetables. though he eats them, he really doesn't like vegetables. the taste, the texture, he dislikes everything about them.
✗ boredom. unless he's doing something he really enjoys, he pretty much stays bored at all times. and he really hates it, especially when there's no way to fix it.
✗ bugs. he doesn't really like any creepy crawlies and he does his very best to avoid them. or squish them.
✗ spiders. he's scared of spiders. when one gets too close to him, he starts to panic and it usually takes hours for him to stop shaking and catch his breath.
✗ bullies. they only pick on people because they're insecure and jealous, that's what he thinks about bullies. and he can't stand them.
✗ pointy objects. he has a bit of a fear of needles and that carries over a little to other pointed objects.
✗ being touched. verging on a serious phobia, he hates it when someone he doesn't feel extremely close to touches him at all.
✗ thunder. the loudness of the noise tends to startle him and if it's especially loud, he'll cover his ears and try to block it because it makes him nervous.

Overview:

though he doesn't often have time to do the things he likes, there are some things that he really enjoys. he tries to make the time for them and he spends every bit of his free time doing them. ❦ sports and games. ❦ playing the guitar and the drums. ❦ writing his own music and singing. ❦ being artistic in some way. ❦ practicing his acting.

he's always wanted to be in a band or act but, especially recently, he's practically had to give up on his dreams completely. his sole job in life is to become the heir to ichihara enterprise and, one day, succeed his father. chasing after his dreams only ever landed him into trouble and would always end with his father punishing his brother as if he'd been the one to go against him. because he loves his brother (brothers, really), he does as his father tells him. this meant giving up on his dreams and ambitions in order to work harder for the company.

there are some things that he's scared of that verge on being a serious phobia. most are kept under control very well but others can't be helped at all.
☣ arachnophobia. his fear of spiders runs rather deep. he can't kill a spider himself, he has to get someone else to do it. he actually keeps his cell phone on him at all times just so that he can call his brother when he comes across one of the little arachnids.
☣ chiraptophobia. he really doesn't like being touched. period. it's one thing if he feels really close to someone, but otherwise it makes him feel really uncomfortable.
☣ claustrophobia. he can deal with smaller spaces sometimes, but if it's hot and/or stuffy at all he gets really uncomfortable and finds it hard to breathe.
☣ bugs. something that isn't really a fear so much as a down-right dislike. He hates bugs of all kinds and tends to stomp them the first chance he gets.

like everyone, he's got both good and bad traits. he tries hard to only show the good, because there's no room in business to be sarcastic and stubborn. some of his most prominent traits are the following:
♥ calm. it's not very often that he isn't radiating a calm aura. happy or sad, he tends to keep a straight face and tries really hard not to bother anyone else with his emotions.
♥ determined. there's hardly ever a chance that he will give up on something, as he hates losing without putting up one hell of a fight and giving it his absolute all.
♥ intelligent. though he spaces out sometimes and it seems like he rarely ever pays any true attention, he actually retains everything that he hears or reads.
♥ sweet. he's generally really nice to everyone, especially in a business situation, because it always benefits him and his standing as heir.
✗ rebellious. though he doesn't usually do anything too serious, he does have a rebellious attitude about some things every now and then.
✗ reserved. he keeps to himself and doesn't openly express how he feels, though he will come out and tell people that he's only into guys if he feels a need for it.
✗ sarcastic. he can't completely control his sarcasm, often using it when he doesn't actually mean too, and this sometimes gets him into trouble.

he's intelligent, though he tends to space out sometimes and does have a bit of trouble focusing on work now and then. he's quick, calm, and resilient, all good traits since he loves playing soccer so much. he tries to avoid confrontation as much as possible, preferring to solve things calmly. he's a sweet boy, though he's very reserved and quiet. he keeps to himself more often than not. he loves animals, especially dogs, and plushies, which he keeps in his room (he even sleeps with one of them). despite being seventeen, he still enjoys coloring and he loves anime and manga. when he's not forced into working for his father in some way or another, he likes playing sports and video games. as far as weather goes, he loves snow and rain best, though he enjoys sunshiny days as well.

along with all of that, he has his rebellious streaks. he never does anything too serious though, because he doesn't want to do anything that might ruin his future or get him in trouble with his father. overall, he's rather laid-back and doesn't bother anyone. he keeps to himself and likes doing his own things when he's not working with/for his father. he does have a pretty good memory, but he often doesn't listen because his mind wonders easily when he's bored. he doesn't care much for friends, figuring his family is enough for him. but still, deep down, he really does want a few people that he can call friends as well as someone to love that'll love him in return, for who he is.

Overview:

ever since he can remember, he's had it rough. he was abandoned when he was only a few months old, moved from foster home to foster home, abused both physically and verbally, and generally just not treated very well.

his biological parents, before dropping him off on an orphanage's doorstep, left him only the surname minato to remember them by. he was only a few months old when they left him there, at a small orphanage in twilight town. the orphanage took him in without looking into where he came from, giving him a name and a place to sleep. they fed him well enough and once he turned five he was officially listed as a child who was in desperate need for a family.

life did not get better in the least. from the time he was listed, he was moved from one foster home to another. some weren't too bad and others were like hell. he often got placed with people who didn't care about the kids and only wanted the money that taking them in got them. some families abused him, some verbally and some physically. The bad outweighed the good by hundreds though. generally, he wasn't treated well at all. many of the people he went to would only give him just enough food to keep him alive.

most of the foster families were in traverse town, though some others were scattered all over the place. it was when he was twelve that he met another orphan, ryuu, in one of the slightly nicer homes. kyou actually grew attached to the boy very quickly and became very dependent on him. when kyou was fourteen a family decided to adopt ryuu, who he'd grown rather attached to, and, after the woman saw how dependent on the older boy he was, decided to adopt him as well.

the family that was adopting them lived on destiny islands. well, the woman did at least. the father, the one behind the initial adoption, lived there when he wasn't in radiant gardens working at his business, ichihara enterprise. for a while, he stayed on destiny islands with his new brother. then things went a little bit south. after discovering that ryuu wasn't fit to be heir to his company, he began to neglect them both. because it put an extra amount of pressure on ryuu, kyou decided that he'd take the older boys place as heir to the company. putting on a nice suit, he'd gone up to his father and offered to devote himself to learning everything the man wanted him to learn.

then things got better. their father didn't neglect them anymore and kyou was more than happy to give most of his time to business if it meant a happy home life, especially for ryuu. this meant that kyou spent most of his time with their father, working on various things and learning a lot of business related details. he turned out to be pretty adept at it, though he didn't really enjoy it at fist. over the last three years he's been hard at work, hardly getting any time to do the things that he really loves to do. but he never complains and he works hard, he even learned to like working with his father. he spends as much time with ryuu as possible and he still likes to use what little free time he gets to play sports and video games.

over the last six months, he's been cooped up in the rooms of the top floor of the house. during that time, he'd often look out the window and see someone he didn't know entering or leaving the house. this piqued kyou's interest and he's been trying to figure out who the boy is. but his father won't tell him and his mother and brother are also hiding it from him. he can tell they don't want to keep it from him, be he just can't get it out of them. so maybe he should take matters into his own hands.
