The soft sound of breathing and a pencil against paper filled the art room. Riku was intent on the image he drew, never noticing as people passed the room and peeked in. A few even going so far as to watch him draw for a while before leaving him. His hair, shorter than it had been last year was no longer in the pony tail it would have been but his glasses sat delicately on his nose as he sketched from memory. He'd been working on it for a while, it was a distant but vague memory from his childhood days on Destiny Island.
It was of a child standing by the crystal clear water, the sand glistening as the setting sun shone off of it. There was something about this memory that had been getting to him lately, especially since he was sure that the recurring dream he'd had these past few months had something to do with it as well. He'd been at this for hours, erasing and throwing out when he was unsatisfied.
With a sigh Riku leaned back and away from the sketch. Studying it for a moment, it was still unfinished and yet Riku felt like this time he almost had it. He looked towards the one window in the room and was surprised to see that the sun was already at a high point in the sky. He'd been in there longer than he'd thought.

[atrb=width,450px,bTable][atrb=valign,top] Aqua moved casually through the building. She hadn't been in this one yet, as much as she loved this campus, its size was overwhelming. Her own schools had been much smaller, from high school to college, she'd always been in small rooms, usually one building. Kingdom University spanned a dozen buildings and the surrounding town was huge as well. Traverse Town had been big, but it was nothing compared to Radiant Gardens. It was daunting, but exciting, and Aqua had resolved long before she had landing a teaching position here that she would explore everything this town and the prestigious university had to offer.
She'd wandered into the creative arts building today. On the walls she found pictures from years passed, framed and displayed proudly. She recognized a few of the names: Kingdom University had great success landing its students in the field of their dreams. It showed in the art on the walls. She felt an excitement at the idea of stopping in later when music would float down the hall, when a new crop of students with add their creativity to the awaiting walls.
Yes, she would defiantly have to stop by later, when classes were in full swing.
Her yearning to see art in action seemed to be answered as, traveling down the hall, she noticed a door where the few students wandering as she was, paused to look in. Aqua stopped in the door herself, eyes lighting up to see a young boy with pencil in hand. After only a brief moment, he stopped, sighing, attention moving away from the paper.
Curiosity drove her forward, and Aqua moved close enough to see the sketch. "Oh wow!" Aqua's hand dropped away from her mouth, flickering to the boy responsible before back to the sketch. "I'm sorry if I'm interrupting but. That's beautiful!" When she managed to pull her gaze away from the paper, she offered him a smile, steepling her fingers in front of her. "You're very talented!"

Riku was so intent on his work that he honestly never noticed the woman that strode further into the room then ask the other students and staff had. Most had known him and had remembered that they'd get no word from him when he was being this intense. However, the woman that entered was not someone Riku was familiar with. So when she spoke after he detached apart of himself from his work, he couldn't help getting a little startled at the unfamiliar voice. He studied the woman, appreciating her beauty with an artist's eye but recognizing a staff member. He offered a small smile at her words, ignoring the dissatisfied feeling that welled up in him.
“Thank you. I really appreciate that." He moved back a little incase she wanted to get a closer look. A part of him loved that she felt he was good but the other part knew that there were better people he was still learning after all. He decided to say as much. “I'm actually not all that good. A lot of my seniors and fellow students are a lot better."
He grinned sheepishly and glanced at the sketch ruefully as he said, “It probably doesn't help that i chose a memory I can barely remember to draw."
Suddenly, surprised by his own lack of manners he let out a sound of surprise and offered his hand. "I'm sorry. I'm Riku, Riku Ichihara. I'm a third year student here. I major in art."
