Brief Overview:
A.J. stands about 5'3 in stature, a little bit on the short side for a girl her age, but this has never bothered her. She is petite, with a slight curve in her hips she has gained the last few years from developing into a young woman. A black curtain of hair flows past her shoulders to the small of her back with bangs fringing her face. Normally it is fairly straight, but it will curl in humidity. Her gray-blue eyes are wide, alert, and calculating; her nose is small, and her lips are little too thin for her taste. She wears a small layer of concealer on any breakouts, but that's about it for makeup. Her skin tone is medium in color, but because of her Italian heritage, she darkens easily in the sun. A pair of headphones are almost around her neck or on her person somewhere.
Outside of school, A.J. takes on a casual wardrobe, mostly t-shirts and jeans with a few skirts thrown in. There are times when she delves into her inner girly-girl and dresses up. She is almost always seen with her favorite shoes on, a pair of ratty converse that she has retained since 7th grade. Her parents however, do wish she would dress up more, especially for the social events they take part in. [/left]

Overview:
At first glance, Avery seems quiet when meeting and interacting with people for the first. She is very polite, so polite almost to the point that there is no friendliness in her speech or actions. Some might take this as a disinterest in socialization, or they may see her as just plain cold and clipped.
In all actuality, A.J. is very much a sweet girl with a big heart, she just keeps up a wall so she will not get close to people. As she moves around a lot, she has not been able to make many friends, and when she does bond with someone, it hurts very much to move on. This makes her a very lonely person, and she has a hard time keeping up stable relationships.
A.J. is very reliable. When she says she will be there for you, she means it and will go through hell and high water to keep her promises. Because of this drive to please people, she is very perseverant. While this is a fantastic trait and leads to her getting things done, she is easily hurt when she feels she has not lived up to the expectations of those around her. As an aftermath to rejection of any kind, she is extremely stubborn and resolved to do whatever it takes to finish the task at hand and make people happy.
She is attentive to people's wants and needs and how they react to certain situations. Because of her travels, she has learned much about cultures and certain customs. When she visits different places, she makes sure to obey those customs as she does not want to offend anyone. She rarely makes contact until she has obtained knowledge on customary interaction.
She has much faith in the people around her such as her father and mother, but not much faith in herself. This leads to her having a somewhat low self-esteem. She is not necessarily self-conscious about her body, but rather her personality and how people think about her. She is very much the introvert, looking inwards on herself, instead of out at the surrounding world.
She is the best of both worlds when it comes to her personality. She has her father's methodical thinking about matters, making her very ritualized whether it be she is getting ready in the mornings or taking notes in a lecture. But she also has her mother's heart and compassion and artistic sense. However, she has retained her father's temper and impulsive behavior. She also tends to be rather indecisive and swings with whatever decision presents itself first.

Avery Joel Cipriano was born to Adriano Cipriano and Jacqueline Montavon Cipriano on a sunny, but cold afternoon in Radiant Gardens Hospital. But of course a bit of back story is needed to understand...
Adriano, an embassador was in Destiny Islands on a vacation when he met AJ's mom. Classic love story, blah blah blah. They dated long distance for a while and eventually got married.
And so two years later Avery Joel Cipriano was born to Adriano...well you already knew that.
Childhood;;
So, a few years later as AJ grew, it was apparent that she was very smart, making mostly A's with the occasional B, but nonetheless her parents were very proud. As she traveled, she picked up languages easily, but her favorite language was that of music. Even though her parents immersed her in various cultures and she listened to plenty of classical music, she found herself loving rock music.
Teen;;
A.J. continued to travel and see many places, however, because she was always on the move, she never really had the chance to settle down and make friends or date, so became a bit more withdrawn each time they had to move. She longed for the boring life of public schools and afternoon activities that she saw many children engaging in.
When A.J. was 11, her family returned to her father's hometown of Twilight Town so he could take care of his sick mother. They stayed there for about a year and a half until her grandmother passed away from a battle with cancer. During the course of that year and a half, she was allowed to attend a private school (only the best for his snookems--as her father would say). During this time, she made a few close friends and even formed a band, where she played guitar and back-up singer.
Of course, the time came when her father's job called again and she was forced to leave these friendships behind. She became resentful of her father's job, but reluctantly kept this inside of herself. She became quieter, but channeled her loneliness into her music, even playing a few minor concerts at different dives and parks when her family traveled.
Her family supported her music because they loved her, but did urge her to go to the galas and dances that all of the different embassies held. She would force a smile, put on a frilly dress, and go on.
She continued her middle school and high school education abroad and through tutorship while traveling. While she enjoyed the experience of seeing so many different places, she earned for a true place to call her home.

Now that AJ has officially gotten her high school degree and turned 18, she has decided to return to her hometown of Radiant Garden and attend university, of course with her father paying.

Gray-blue orbs flickered across the page of the small book she held in her hand. She slumped into her seat, momentarily distracted by the shadows of telephone poles crisscrossing her page as the sun showered Japan with it's last few rays of the day. Wasn't this supposed to be "The Land of the Rising Sun" anyways?
"Siamo arrivati, il mio amore."

The blonde woman sitting in the front of the car turned around and smiled. "Avery, we're home." The same blue eyes as her own twinkled warmly at her.
Avery nodded and folded her book promptly before shoving it into the front of her backpack which she quickly gathered and slid her arms through the straps. She siddled across the seat and stepped out.
Raising her hand to block out the sun's rays, she raked her crystalline gaze over her new "home." Her frown settled a little deeper into her expression, marring her regular, but pretty features. Home wasn't exactly the word AJ would give to this place. Actually, she wasn't sure where home was.
"Come on honey, let's go take a look."
With a sigh, she followed her parents up the stone walk to the traditional two-story house. After entering the...genkan, as she remembered from her Japanese language text, AJ slipped out of her shoes and gently slid them against the wall as was customary upon entering the home in Japan.
On the outside, the house appeared to be of very traditional design, but on the inside, the furnishings and style could only have been chosen by her father. All sleek surfaces and flat, sharp lines. The dark paneled walls made everything feel a bit small even with the open concept. She passed a hand along the granite counter of the eat-in bar that separated the living and kitchen areas. Near the back of the house a set of stairs led up to the bedrooms. Of course, her parents shared the master and she had her own bedroom.
Her mother muttered something about turning in early while her father whispering Italian nonsense. AJ nodded and turned to go down the small hallway to her own bedroom and bath.
Stepping into her room, she flicked on the light, her gaze traveling around. AJ dug in her pockets, pulling out her phone, iPod, earbuds, and keys, tossing them onto the desk. She shuffled over to the closet, knowing her clothes would already be there. She made her way around the room, touching the surfaces of various things, her TV, her bedsheets, a few trinkets on her desk. This was a practice from every time they moved. Maybe just by touching these things, they would be hers and for a while she could pretend she was home.
