Angel hadn't really played a lot of sports, but basketball has always been her favorite. She was fairly decent at playing too. She came into the gym in a white tee-shirt and shorts with her low tops on. No one was really playing so she just shot some hoops for a bit til someone came along. Either that or she gets tired of waiting and looks for someone.
She grabbed a ball from the rack and dribbled it as she walked over to the court. She was about six or seven feet away from the hoop when she ran over and tossed it in the air. The ball slid around the hoop and went in. Angel grabbed it and ran back a bit and jumped as she shot the ball into the air. It bounced off the rim and onto the floor. She's not perfect at it, but she enjoys it. After a few more shots, she begins to wonder if there was anyone she could challenge.
She stood there for a moment and tried spinning the ball on a finger. Of course she couldn't do it but that didn't stop her from trying. As a last shot for her until she had herself a challenger, she got on the 3 point line and took a step back. Once she felt her aim was right, the ball was shot into the air and jumped a few times just a tad and slid into the hoop. That was the first time that she was able to make that shot. Angel felt like an character from a manga she was reading. What was his name? Shintarou Midorama? They both had green hair and eyes. They also both wore glasses though she wore them half the time and wears contacts the other half.

the sound of a soccer ball smacking against skin, against a wall, and running through the grass. those were the only sounds that could be heard outside of the gym. it was a rhythmic pattern of sounds, interrupted on very few occasions by a deep breath that sounded more like a whisper on the wind.
adelaide had been at this for over an hour now; juggling the soccer ball, kicking it at the brick wall before her, and then juggling it some more. it was good practice, especially on days like this when the rest of the soccer team was busy with other things. and really, what kind of practice wasn't good? besides, she quite enjoyed it, even if she did work up a sweat doing it. then again, that was the point of it all anyway, really. if you weren't sweating, then you weren't working hard enough.
but, be that as it may, you could only practice for so long by yourself before you got tired of it, or bored, and had to find something else to do to occupy your time. after another few minutes of juggling, the second year knocked the ball into the air and caught it neatly in her arms when it came back down.
an illegal move, for a forward such as her, if this were any kind of real game. ah, but she knew better than to do anything like that outside of solo practice. speaking of, dribbling would probably be a good thing to work on next time. she couldn't let herself get rusty on that. shooting, too. so that was another two days worth of solo practicing that she'd figured out. although... shooting practice would probably be more productive if she had a goalie to face off against. like riku.
tucking the ball under one arm, addie picked up her towel and wiped her face before heading into the gym to return the ball. she had her own, in her room, but she hadn't wanted to walk all the way back there since she'd already been right here by the gym. and, being on the soccer team (and in the soccer club) she was allowed to borrow one anytime she wanted so long as she put it back when she was done.
she didn't really play basketball, which was what the gym was mostly used for, but she knew a pretty good bit about it. the rules, the game play, how certain things were done. and she could tell that someone -or maybe it was more. no, it was only one judging by the echoed sound of shoes on hardwood flooring.- was in there practicing. she smiled as she entered the main room of the gym, walking along the side to get to the storage room.
though she did find herself glancing towards one of the courts and watching the girl there as she made a three-point shot.

Angel starts to dribble the ball some more and shoots. She was better than she thought. Last time she played basketball was when in her teens. She only knew how to play street style. She never really liked the kids at her school so she stuck with the neighborhood kids. Maybe she was just better at this style of basketball.
They neighborhood kids were rough, but they played for the enjoyment of competition and having a good time. They didn't care if you were bad. They'd teach you to play and pit you against another set of kids in a game. They all got to play regardless so there was no one left out. But the winning tea got bragging rights for a while until someone comes and beats them.
As she was getting ready to shoot, her body suddenly froze. For some reason her thoughts moved to the day that she was taken away from her parents from seeing a red glare in the glass board that keeps the ball from leaving the court if it misses the hoop. All she could see now was her father sitting next to her dead mother. His expression was emotionless as he got up. Her body unfrozed, but she could see him with that horrible expression. He was holding the knife, still dripping of her mother. She moved back and fell over the ball she dropped. Her eyes grew wide as she slowly move backwards on the floor. He kept getting closer and closer to Angel. Tears ran down her face and she kept repeating, "Get away." Her lips trembled in fear. She then let out a scream that shatter the image of her father to pieces as well as scaring anyone in the gym half to death.
The pieces began to slowly disappear into thin air and she scooted back against a wall with her face covered to hide her tears. She hated to let people see her cry. Everyone she's know has called her strong. How can be she strong after this?

adelaide was careful to kick down the door-stop before entering the store room, effectively keeping it from closing behind her and locking her inside. that would have been horrible, though she knew she wouldn't have been locked in there for very long. all she'd have had to do was call riku and he'd come and let her out.
placing the soccer ball she'd borrowed back into the appropriate ball-bin, she took a good look around the room. it was still very neat and orderly, from where the soccer club had cleaned it up a couple of weeks ago. nothing was really out of its place. she hadn't payed the room any real mind before, when she'd come and grabbed the soccer ball, but she was glad she took the time to look around now. it was nice to see that people were taking care of the equipment and putting it all back where it belonged.
just as she was about to turn around and leave the room, a scream cut through the air. she jumped, hand flinching away from the door where she'd been about to push it open. the sound seemed to echo for a moment before finally subsiding. kicking the door-stop back up so that the door would lose behind her, adelaide headed out of the store room and back into the main area of the gym.
no one else had come into the place while she'd been inside the storage area. it was only herself and the same green-headed female as before. addie's head cocked to the side as she wondered what could have possibly happened. the stranger was was curled up in the fetal position and, she was sure but couldn't be certain, crying.
adelaide was not known, at all, for her friendly nature. she kept to herself, didn't talk much, and generally chose not to spend time with other people. this, of course, wasn't limited to people that she didn't know. sometimes, she didn't even want to spend any time with her teammates, hence why she so often practiced on her own. she'd been trying to be more social, though, and it was working out pretty well. for the most part.
lately, she'd been spending more and more time with other people, though she still didn't really talk much. and other people generally referred to riku. but still, it was a work-in-progress and this could be seen as one of the many challenges she would face in order to achieve that little goal. she walked over knelt down in front of the girl.
"um... are... are you okay?"
