The man with the deep red hair leaned back in his white leather chair, his tennis-shoed feet up on top of his desk, one ankle crossed over the other, a sack lunch in his lap. He held in his one hand a crunchy peanut butter sandwich on white bread, and in the other hand he held a red Vitamin Water. His mouth was full, and he chewed for a moment before seeming to have come back from being zoned out. For a moment, he didn't know the cause of what had brought back his attention, but then he realized that his desk clock had beeped, warning him that the next classes were about to begin. He swallowed quick and shoved the rest of his sandwich in his mouth, setting his feet on the ground and standing, setting the brown paper bag and his drink on the desk. He strode up to the front of the room, and with one quick swipe of the electronic eraser on the broad Smart Board, Axel's last class was erased from existence and made way for the next class, which happened to be Deviance and Social Control. As he swallowed the half of the sandwich that he'd forced into his mouth, a grunt escaping as the peanut butter stuck all over the inside of his mouth and throat, he made his way to his desk to get a drink of the Vitamin Water and think about what he needed to do to prepare. So, this was the first time he'd meet this batch of students. No First Years in this class; just Seconds, Thirds, and Fourths. This ought to be exciting. Perhaps they were a tad more punctual than his students in Controversial Social Issues. Axel didn't really mind - after all, for about a quarter of the first day he just talked to his students, getting to know them and letting them get to know him, and then for half of what was left he went over the syllabus and everything. Really, today was going to be totally chill. He hoped his students would like this class; he certainly did. As he swallowed the drink, the infamous stickiness of peanut butter being washed away, he looked to the table in the back of the room. On that table lay a box of pocket planners which he'd hand out, as well as a stack of the course syllabus and his own expectations. He walked over the chocolate and black-speckled marble floor to the back of the room, then inwardly smacked himself in the forehead with his palm. He wouldn't know how many papers to lay out if he didn't know how many students he had in the class. With that thought in mind, Axel turned back to the front of the room and walked to his desk, rummaging through the drawers of the desk before finding the envelope containing the attendance list for his Deviance and Social Control class. With the count in mind, he returned to the back of the room and counted out the number of planners he'd need, then went and laid one on each white desk before returning to count out the syllabus and personal rules. He laid one of each paper on each desk beside the planners, and then he returned to the front of the room, looking around and putting his hands on his hips, tapping his foot lightly to consider what exactly he'd need to do next. Got the planners, the syllabus, my rules and expectations... ah. I need to get the first day slideshow up on the board and write my name.Axel made his way to his desk and sat in his chair, spinning it around to look at his sleek navy blue laptop. He scooted up to it and scrolled around for a minute, trying to remember where to go to select the proper slideshow. Seeing as he was already in the PowerPoint program, all he'd have to do is go to open up the pre-made slideshow. He scrolled up to the File place, selected open, and found the proper slideshow, putting it up on the Smart Board via the projector hanging from the ceiling of the middle of the room. Now that the slideshow was up, he spun to face the board, standing up and walking towards it. He snatched up the black marker in the tray of the Smart Board and scribbling out his name. Going through the mental checklist in his head, he determined that he'd done all that was necessary and he returned to his desk, chugging his Vitamin Water and tossing it in the brown paper bag. He tossed it in the wastebasket beside the door, then shook his head vigorously as he prepared for another batch of kids. He walked to the door and stepped outside, leaning up against the wall as he'd done for prior classes and as he'd continue to do throughout the entire school year and the rest of his career. He stretched his arms above his head, then adjusted his clean white tee-shirt and brushed some crumbs off of his silver basketball shorts. He was pretty much presentable now, it seemed; he checked a clock at the end of the hall. Class was going to start quickly. Now all he had to do was wait. | [atrb=style, width: 100px; vertical-align: center;] | [atrb=style, background: #b2c7d6; padding: 8px; border: 2px dashed #B13E0F; -webkit-border-radius: 10px 10px 10px 10px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; opacity: 0.6]Tagged: the class of DASC. Hard, brisk footsteps were distinctively heard throughout the corridor as the young man hurried to his Deviance and Social Control class. He had accidentally fallen asleep earlier that day from staring at several patterns on a library book, and when he woke up he had no idea how much time had passed. He could have slept for a few minutes, or a few hours… Carlos had sharply inhaled when he recalled his schedule, and leapt off the chair in a rush. He quickly placed the book in its proper place, slung his bag over his body, and exited the library. He wished belatedly that he wore a watch more often.
His hair was even more tousled than it usually was, and in his haste he had forgotten to comb it. Carlos ran a hand through his hair several times as he was walking, praying to God that he didn’t look like a mess; that would send the wrong message to his would-be professor. He had the sense of mind to pop in his mouth a mint gum as he went, so he didn’t have to worry about bad breath from the sleep. Finally, he stopped several doors away from the room, and he was a little out of breath. Carlos’s heart was pounding rapidly from sheer excitement. He liked this class, which he judged from the information he got using his resources. He’s not going to make it a horrible experience by being a late, untidy, blabbering fool.
From his position he took a moment to compose himself. He ran another hand through his hair, and it fell neatly back to its rightful mussed form. He straightened out the pinstriped, single-breasted suit he was wearing, fixed his lapel, and finally, took a deep breath to calm himself down. Then, he strode towards the door, managing an air of self-confidence. Carlos saw the professor—or who he assumed was the professor—against the door and had flamboyant, flaming red hair that left Carlos temporarily distracted. After a few seconds of simply just… ogling there, Carlos mentally slapped himself. “Greetings, sir,” said he formally, as the way he was raised compelled him to do so always. “I am Carlos Mitchell. This will be mine first time in thine class, and—” He knew he was going to start talking aimlessly at that point, so he cut himself off and smiled politely. Never mind.
He excused himself and strode into the classroom, then picked the seat nearest to the teacher’s table, and gracefully made the needed steps to reach it. Carlos would then remove the bag from his person, sit down, and leaned the bag against the chair for support while it stood upright on the ground. His hand would glide to the corner of the sheets of paper on his chosen desk, and for a few minutes he would absorb all that was written.

Moments after Carlos walked in, Sentenza entered as well with a rather nasty looking shiner on his left eye. He had had a rather nasty encounter at his job the night before with a guy who was drunk off his ass.
Sentenza nonchalantly strolled over to a seat in the far corner and sat down. He knew that this in combination with the black eye would likely give a bad impression, but it was just his nature to act as a bit of loner when it boiled right down to things. "Professor Greysein, I presume?" Sentenza asked, his voice cool and crisp. He wouldn't know, this was his first sociology class. He decided to take it because it seemed relevant to his interest in criminal justice.
So far, he wasn't too impressed with the professor, but that was just at first glance and judging by the professor's manner of dress, and not much else. In the lighting of the room, his eyes appeared to be a medium blue. His eyes traveled from the professor to the other student in the room. He didn't exactly seem on top of his game, and from Sentenza's perception seemed somewhat fidgety, or at least that's how Sentenza described him.

She had to walk quickly if she wanted to get to class on time – it was not that she had overslept, but just that she had ended up checking her Facebook, her e-mail, a couple of blogs, three webcomic updates, and a couple other things on the internet before actually going and getting a shower and readying herself for class. Well, that, and it took her a while to decide on an outfit, not because she was not sure whether to wear this skirt or that, but it was hard to find an outfit that was not horribly wrinkled from the journey back to campus from home. Eventually, she managed to corral an outfit together, something simple: just short, black heels, a black pencil skirt, and a white blouse. She wanted to add a black blazer, but none of them were in a wearable condition: one too wrinkled, one missing a button, and the other, God, she had no idea what happened to that one.
So, with her cloths chosen, Atsuko had to rush to class now, the heels not making it easy, but she wanted to look as good as possible for the first day of classes – to make a good impression on her teachers. She might end up late, but, so be it. She doubted that Professor Greysein would be especially concerned about him being late, she did not remember him being super strict. But still, Atsuko did not want to look like a chump, so she had to move as quickly as possible – living on campus did have its benefits.
It took her, some time, not too long, to get to class – luckily she saw that the professor was still standing outside of the classroom, she was on time. Atsuko hurried up to get to class as quickly as possible, wanting to hurry up for those last few steps up. When she got to the professor, she gave a quick, “Good morning Professor Greysein,” before ducking into class, taking the first seat inside the door in the first row, not wanting to bother looking for a seat. There were two other boys there, not sure who the one was, but the other looked somewhat familiar. Eh, there was no need to pay them any mind, and Atsuko just went to stare at the projection at the front of the classroom, eager to get into the thick of class.
