It's harder than it seems, When you're told that All your hopes and dreams, Are yours to hold if
| Her eyes shifted around the park as she strolled along. Bordom was settling in and she took a stroll to get away from the computer games, dorm room and the books. A sigh escaped her lips as she meandered the place. She looked for lack of better words, shattered. Why was she here? She was meeting her father, for a chat about the University and to update him on how things were going. Apparently... He'd be keeping tabs on her progress to make sure she didn't fail.
That little meeting had already been and gone and he'd taken her out for a meal that she didn't eat. She didn't feel hungry and she'd taken to day dreaming during the whole conversation. Zoning out when he spoke to her.
Needless to say he noticed that and their little day out? Turned in to a disaster as he started quizzing her about why she wasn't on the ball. She just gave excuses saying that it was because she'd been studying hard thanks to the amount of classes she'd taken. This started an argument, he thinks she's in to guys now and she didn't like that at all. With that said she did sort of like a particular guy but he was much younger than herself and he was the only one she'd openly told about her little secret and her reasons for her cross-dressing.
That was because of the accident mind you.
Stopping at a park bench she sat herself down. Her father had ditched her now, so much for a day out with dad. It had all come crumbling down and now she was left feeling alone and empty to boot. She was starting to dislike her father more and more each time she spoke with him. It was beginning to get hard to defend him as a good man the more she talked with him because everytime he'd start an argument and it'd end with her feeling like trash.
Sitting there her gaze kept shifting around to the various people that strolled around the park. Most of them wore happy faces as they went and Alex? She just sat there and pulled a book from her bag. Sighing for a moment she opened that book and started reading, it was a book for her Psych class and so she was studying, even here she was studying when she should be relaxing, trying to cram as much knowledge in her had as humanly possible so that she didn't fail anything.
Failing would resort to another verbal beating from her father.
Slowly her eyes closed as she kept reading they were getting heavy and she had to force herself to stay awake. Now she just... Hoped that someone she knew would walk by and maybe she could just talk to them and cheer up a bit. She didn't like being depressed, it was something she hated more than anything in the world, yet somehow, interactions with her father always dulled all her other emotions till there was nothing but pain. Yet she STILL tried to defend him, thinking he was a good man when really? He wasn't she just had some odd perception of him because he was her father.
"Hmph." A singular noise came from her as her now cold eyes scanned over people. She wouldn't be quite as cheerful as she usually was and she'd be dulled to any happiness shown, maybe a laugh or giggle would help.
Though she doubted she'd get that today. | [cs=2] You just give them, What's expected But I am not for sale, I am not for sale |

Zeran dashed in front of Alex as if all of hell was on his tail. Soon after followed a crowd of angry jocks shouting obscene remarks. Zeran quickly hid behind a tree and watched as all the angry jocks passed he stuck out his tongue and made a few rude gestures, then walked over and sat at the nearest bench he could find, which was Alex', muttering something about "being blamed for their stupid girlfriends' underwear being gone" and "he didn't even know where the area their panties touched had been."
Zeran almost ignored the person he assumed to be a boy, then took out a pack of cigarettes and lit one to start smoking. He sat as far away from the other person as possible, trying to let the smoke not bother them. Zeran took a long drag, then puffed the smoke out. "Damn, I really need to quit this." Zeran said, more to himself than anyone else. Various cancers didn't sound fun, nor did emphysema. Zeran then turned to the other person and looked them over sizing them up. Something then struck him. "You're in my psychology class, aren't you? You know, Professor Sekiyo, or something." Zeran said.

| Alex's gaze lifted as the angry mob passed by and then? She just blinked a few times before she watched the person who had been running from them head back out in to the public eye. A disinterested look was given to the other as they took a seat on the bench next to her before she simply shrugged her shoulders and went back to just... Sitting there quietly. She wouldn't bother them, she didn't know them nor did she really care much about them for the time being. Though she did hear the angry mutterings before the guy pulled a pack of smokes from somwhere and lit a cigarette. She was grateful that he actually moved to the far side so that the smoke didn't reach her but smoke never really bothered her. After all her father was a chainsmoker so she became almost immune to the smell. "Damn, I really need to quit this." The other spoke and Alex lifted her head adjusting the cabby hat on her head, though now she noticed he was looking at her and she just stared right back at him. "You're in my psychology class, aren't you? You know, Professor Sekiyo, or something." A question was posed. "Yeah, I was kicking the crap out of the cupboard he was hiding in when he pulled that stupid fucking joke on the class. We're supposed to learn and he wasted a good portion of the beginning of the class being a fuckwit. Oh and you did get the idiot's name right." A chuckle escaped her lips, thank you life time of acting like a guy and honing your voice to two different tones so you sounded like one too. "Guess I should tell you my name right? That's how things work. So yeah, I'm Alex and you would be?" "Ah right, thought you looked familiar." Zeran said, he then sighed a little. "Asshole made my sister totally freak out. It's a stupid move putting a bunch of people you don't know in that sort of situation just to see how they react . . . I'm not saying everyone is like Eraz, but Eraz is a little . . . well, she still believes in the stork, except now she thinks it's a pelican because I don't want to have to give her 'the talk'. I mean geez, you wouldn't want to have to explain that to your sister would you?" Zeran realized he was a talking a little to much and shut up their. He new that he tended to rant a little bit, especially when it involved his sister, even more so when his father was involved.
"Name? Name's Zeran." Zeran said. "Alex, nice name. Short for Alexander or Alexandra. Means man's defender . . . Zeran is a suburb of Warsaw." Zeran sighed a little, something told him his dad came up with that name. That would be totally like his father to name his son after a suburb of Warsaw, Poland, for no apparent reason. "My dad probably came up with that name . . ." Zeran said, letting out another exasperated sigh.

| "Ah right, thought you looked familiar." A nod of the head as Alex listened. That means someone had taken note of her. Even when she tried to not really stand out too much. What a sad life, having to constantly strive to be unseen by people and hide who you really were thanks to your dad's crappy views on women.
"Asshole made my sister totally freak out. It's a stupid move putting a bunch of people you don't know in that sort of situation just to see how they react . . . I mean geez, you wouldn't want to have to explain that to your sister would you?" She listened tilting her head to one side as he spoke.
"I totally agree that it's a stupid idea to put people in that situation. As for the talk? It doesn't really bother me, at the end of the day it's just sex, not too horrible really, and it's a natural part of life." A shrug of the shoulders and she felt her mood lifting a bit with the more she spoke. It was odd really. Just talking. Just a random conversation was making her feel better.
"Name? Name's Zeran." Her eyes widened a little at the name given. It was different that's for sure.
"Interesting name." It was the truth in her opinion, it was an interesting name to her.
"Alex, nice name. Short for Alexander or Alexandra. Means man's defender . . . Zeran is a suburb of Warsaw." A chuckle came from Alex again as she smiled.
"Odd how you know what my name means, not many people care enough to actually be interested in it."
"My dad probably came up with that name . . ." The guy said and he was sighing about it.
"Well at least your father actually thought about it? Instead of giving you a run of the mill name like mine? My father is a good man but he can be a bit of an ass. I was supposed to be with him for the day but he ditched me because he was having a jerk day." Mood lifted. That was it she kept smiling as she watched other people pass by her. Eyes not quite as empty and dead as they were before.
"Well it's nice to meet you Zeran, you lifted my crappy mood."

"Well, it's only partly the whole 'sex' thing that bothers me about. A) I'm not exactly the most delicate guy and I can think of several ways explaining how lady parts work could god horribly wrong. B) . . . I'm not entirely sure how Eraz would take what I'm saying and things from their could just get . . . weird. Only way to describe it." Zeran said.
"I'm not actually sure why I knew what your name meant, honestly. I probably read it in a book once, and just filed it away until I needed to use it." Zeran said. "And well, the thing is, I'm not entirely sure what was going through my dad's head. I never am really. I'm not even sure if he'd know if I asked him. He's . . . he's well . . ." Zeran looked as if he trying to pick the correct words. "He's unusual, to say the least he . . . he . . ." Zeran got a somewhat pained look on his face. "He's a freaking loony, but I love him because he's my dad."
"Honestly, your dad sounds like a bit of a douche. I mean you're still his kid after all." Zeran said. "If you're going to spend a day with your kid at least follow through on it." Zeran realized he might've come off as a little brusk. "Sorry, I'm sure your dad is a nice guy underneath it all." Zeran said. "I like to think of it the Buddhist way though, there's no real evil, there's just misguided good."

| "Well, it's only partly the whole 'sex' thing that bothers me about." Alex arched a brow at this before she pulled the hat off her head and used a hand to shake her hair.
"A) I'm not exactly the most delicate guy and I can think of several ways explaining how lady parts work could god horribly wrong." Alex couldn't help but grin at that. Oh so what, everyone had to learn at some point in life.
"B) . . . I'm not entirely sure how Eraz would take what I'm saying and things from their could just get . . . weird. Only way to describe it." At this point Alex sighed as she leant back on the bench arms spread over the back of it relaxed.
"Well you're her brother right? So unless your parents are gonna tell her? I think it's kinda your job. Of course you could always just tell her to ask a teacher and have them explain. Gets you out of doing it. Then you can always blame the teach if anything goes wrong." Her way of thinking, there was a way out for Zeran if he did it that way, yet he'd still have done his job as the older sibling.
"I'm not actually sure why I knew what your name meant, honestly. I probably read it in a book once, and just filed it away until I needed to use it." Alex laughed at that, it was like her, she took in useless information about people sometimes before she actually had to use it.
"And well, the thing is, I'm not entirely sure what was going through my dad's head. I never am really. I'm not even sure if he'd know if I asked him. He's . . . he's well . . ."
"He's?"
"He's unusual, to say the least he . . . he . . ." Why was he struggling to find words? That was something Alex didn't really understand at the second. Though the look on the guy's face made her wince a little.
"He's a freaking loony, but I love him because he's my dad." Almost like her's she supposed, yes her father was an asshole but she still loved him none the less.
"Honestly, your dad sounds like a bit of a douche. I mean you're still his kid after all." Alex's eyes widened as she frowned at Zeran. Yes judge someone you don't even know that's a wonderful thing to do.
"If you're going to spend a day with your kid at least follow through on it." The guy had a point really when she thought about it. Her father the more she thought about it was an ass and yet she still defended him anyways. Maybe it was because that was all she knew from the man?
"Sorry, I'm sure your dad is a nice guy underneath it all."
"Maybe but then again maybe I'm just the son he doesn't want. I was adopted after all so I guess he might hold some sort of resentment to me cause he couldn't have a blood related son. Makes sense." She stated as she relaxed more staring upwards at the sky and just generally chatting like it didn't bug her all that much.
"I like to think of it the Buddhist way though, there's no real evil, there's just misguided good."
"Well... That's a good way of thinking. Well at least I think it is. So kudos to you for thinking like that man." A nod as she glanced back over at Zeran.
"It's been nice talking to you. Means I might have more than just one friend here finally." A chuckle as she thought about that. She really didn't have many friends, mainly because she didn't want them to find out about her 'secret'.
"I'm living in Holmes at the moment, room 200 so feel free to drop by at some point if you want."

Zeran shifted a little awkwardly, feeling bad about how he had spoken about Alex' father. "Sorry, I can kind of be a dick sometimes . . . okay fine, a lot of the time actually." Zeran sighed, a kind of sad expression entering his sickly pale face.
"Every one should appreciate their kids, no matter where they came from . . . wait a minute, if he didn't want a son, why the hell did he adopt one in the first place. Kind of seems like an odd situation there." Zeran said, raising an eyebrow a little.
"Oh really, you're in Holmes too?" Zeran asked. "I'm in 105 at the moment. Though I've been thinking of trying to see if I can switch to a double room and get a roommate. The single room is a little more lonely than I though it would be . . . knowing my sister though, she'd probably ask to change dorms too just be closer to me, and hey, same here. I've only made one friend so far other than you." Zeran stretched a little. "So, what are you majoring in. I'm a music major and play piano, though I'm also in martial arts club." Zeran said.

| "Sorry, I can kind of be a dick sometimes . . . okay fine, a lot of the time actually." The look on the guys face made Alex feel bad so she slid over a bit and gave him a pat on the back.
"It's fine really... At least you speak your mind." The words that came from her as she leant back on the seat again.
"Every one should appreciate their kids, no matter where they came from . . . wait a minute, if he didn't want a son, why the hell did he adopt one in the first place. Kind of seems like an odd situation there."
"Um... I may have said that wrong... I think he hates me because I'm not DIRECTLY related too him through blood, if he had a blood related son then he might care for them more. It was my mother who wanted to adopt anyways." She rubbed the back of her head as she tried to word it right this time around.
"Oh really, you're in Holmes too?"
"Mhmm." A nod of the head was given.
"I'm in 105 at the moment. Though I've been thinking of trying to see if I can switch to a double room and get a roommate. The single room is a little more lonely than I though it would be . . . knowing my sister though, she'd probably ask to change dorms too just be closer to me, and hey, same here. I've only made one friend so far other than you." She laughed a little before she folded her arms across her chest.
"Odd.. I was thinking of moving to a double room as well. Means I'd get a bathroom with the room. Hey! Why don't we apply together? Get moved in to a double room and be room mates? At least we'd know eachother. So we wouldn't be total strangers." A smile played on her face at the idea, though it'd be sad moving out of that little room because she was next door to her friend Sora. Oh well she'd just have to make sure that she visited him or that he visited her!
"So, what are you majoring in. I'm a music major and play piano, though I'm also in martial arts club."
"I'm majoring in Psychology hence why I was pissed with the teach, and I'm head of the shooting and guns club though I'm not in anything else, and I'm not in any teams or anything. Was thinking of joining martial arts but it might be a bad idea for me since I might not be flexible enough or physically fit enough for it." A shrug of the shoulders as she slipped the hat back on her head and now? She looked at her phone checking the time. She should get back to her dorm and get some studying in before tomorrow.
"I think I should get back and do some psych studying. May as well get on top of the ball. Or I could always just collapse in bed." Two options though she favored the foremost of the two. At least she knew two people now.

Zeran chuckled ever so slightly and a smile flashed across his face, though only for a brief moment. "Well, speaking my mind has already sort of screwed me over with a teacher in the drawing class I'm in." Zeran said. "Gotta say though, for now, I don't really like her either . . . I dunno, she just comes off as sort of pretentious to me."
Zeran gave Alex an exasperated look when she explained the situation with her father. "Okay, I'm sorry, but that is really not a healthy relationship. I'm no psychologist, I'm mostly just taking that class to work out my own personal issue, but I think he's probably got some inward hatred that he's trying to thrust on you." Zeran said. "I say, he's a douche bag, but he's a douche bag that seriously needs a hug. This'll be a little ironic coming from me, considering I'm kind of prone to mood swings and pretty well do the opposite of the advice I'm about to give, but when he acts like an ass, just don't let it get to you and kill him kindness. It'll either help him resolve his issues, or just help you deal with him being a jerk."
"Oh, hey, that sounds like a great idea. I can buy an extra controller for my games and when we're not drowning in studying, we can chill and play games together." Zeran said. "Oh god, shooting, I tried to pick it up once and . . . well . . . my aims worse than a blind guy with Parkinson's disease. This is exactly why I keep a katana in case of break-ins rather than a gun."

| Oh a chuckle and a smile! It was brief but it was still there! He looked much better smiling than not doing so, or at least that was what Alex thought. "Well, speaking my mind has already sort of screwed me over with a teacher in the drawing class I'm in." "Won't get you in to trouble with me.""Gotta say though, for now, I don't really like her either . . . I dunno, she just comes off as sort of pretentious to me." Alex laughed, hard, pretentious? Oh wow, she'd hate to meet that teacher that was for sure. "Okay, I'm sorry, but that is really not a healthy relationship. I'm no psychologist, I'm mostly just taking that class to work out my own personal issue, but I think he's probably got some inward hatred that he's trying to thrust on you.""More than likely." She knew the reasons why. Perhaps this was getting to the point where she should just shut her mouth and be done with it as quickly as possible. "I say, he's a douche bag, but he's a douche bag that seriously needs a hug." She arched a brow. Her father and her hugging? Yeah that would never happen. "This'll be a little ironic coming from me, considering I'm kind of prone to mood swings and pretty well do the opposite of the advice I'm about to give, but when he acts like an ass, just don't let it get to you and kill him kindness." That would only make him hate her more, but it was something she'd be willing to try none the less. "It'll either help him resolve his issues, or just help you deal with him being a jerk." She nodded. "I'll try that next time" She commented as she slowly started to stand adjusting the hat on her head as she stuffed her hands in her pockets. "Oh, hey, that sounds like a great idea. I can buy an extra controller for my games and when we're not drowning in studying, we can chill and play games together." That, sounded like fun, it sounded like a lot of fun actually. A grin on her face as the thought played on her mind. Hell maybe she could invite Sora over and Zeran could bring his sister over and they could all play four player. That. Would be something that would make Alex so happy. The idea of actually chilling out with a group of people she could call friends. Then that worry about her whole 'gender' issue flooded her mind, and it quickly diminished those hopes. He'd treat me differently, wouldn't he? The singular question that made this ever so much more awkward for the girl. "Oh god, shooting, I tried to pick it up once and . . . well . . . my aims worse than a blind guy with Parkinson's disease. This is exactly why I keep a katana in case of break-ins rather than a gun." She started laughing again before she offered the guy a hand. "Come on, we can walk back together, I could really do with getting some sleep in mind you cause I didn't sleep last night. Too much worrying about how today with my dad'd go, and of course I already knew it'd crash and burn. It always does." She mummbled, if he took her hand and got up? She'd start heading back, if he followed? Well that was entirely up to him. [[OOC:... o.o;;.... "Glad to hear it. It would suck if we were roommates and I couldn't say a sentence without pissing you off." Zeran said. "Just making that assumption 'cause I tend to piss a lot of people off. Sometimes I even try to just for kicks. Only with people I don't like though."
Zeran could tell the conversation about her father was becoming a little uncomfortable so he just dropped the subject once and for all. "Hey, you think that's funny, you should've seen my dad. He's actually a really decent shot on his first time, and he's got a bum leg so he needs a cane to walk, or even stay balanced." Zeran said.
"Walking back together sounds fine. I'm not sure if their are any open double rooms in Holmes at the moment, and I'm just saying Holmes because it would be a bitch to drag our stuff to another building." Zeran said. "Maybe we can come up with an arrangement with someone that is on their own in a double room and would be fine with moving to a single." Zeran stood up, taking Alkex' hand more out of courtesy than an actual need for it. "Come, on let's go." Zeran said before he headed off with Alex.
